density lab

a example of the displacement method

An example of the displacement method.

In science class we had a density lab. We learned how to find the density of irregular  objects. We also leaned how to find the density of a object which is the mass times the volume, equals the density. We were given a list of objects and we proceeded to find the density of all the objects on the list.

We also learned how to find the volume of an irregular object. Using the displacement method, with means dropping a irregular object in a graduated cylinder or beaker filled about to the middle then record the hight of the water and subtract that from the original amount.  I thought that was kind of cool.
