December 30 1862
Hello My name is Ray. I am 40 and I have a wife, three boys, and three girls. On December 19 1862 my wife and I were talking with our parents and said “We are going to Hawaii in the Golden Land to start a swimsuit shop and it will be called Surf’s Up.” Mom and dad didn’t want us to leave. Mom said, “Can’t you stay here. I want to see my grand babies. I’ll miss them.” “Mom there isn’t good jobs and we are moving and that is it!” I said loud and clearly. Then Mom kissed my six kids good bye. Then we walk home to our house.
On December 29 we pack our stuff and Samantha my wife packed our kids stuff because they are still babies.
The next day my brother Spencer came with his wagon and he took us to the boating area. We said goodbye to Spencer and we got our 2nd class tickets which for all eight of us it was $1,000 to ride in 2nd class. I bet if my children could talk they would say “I don’t want to go all of my friends live here we won’t know anyone in Hawaii.”
The sailing was great for everyone but are kids cried six hours in the night because of the rocking of the boat made them sick and they got sea sick and throw up. The next day my wife and our kids went on the deck and it was a cold but pretty day, but then it started to rain then we ran into the boat but when we dried them of.
But there were only five babies then I ran outside to get the baby but when I was on the deck my baby was on the rail climbing up it and I ran as fast as I could to get her down from the deck. If I went one second later I would of lost my baby, we ran inside and made sure our baby girl wasn’t sick. She was ok but she was cold and wet.
We dried her off the and then we heard the Captain say “,Land ho.” We ran up the stairs with three babies in our arms. When we saw the the Golden Land we were amazed. It look beautiful we ran of the boat to the dock it took 90 days to get to the golden land and it was worth it. We met a lot of cool people there and we stayed we will stay there till we die because it is so pretty and a lot better than the Netherlands.
