God at Work

In bible class we have been learning about how God called Paul to become a great missionary. God had been preparing Paul to be a missionary his whole life by giving Paul many great skills. Like Paul was a pharisee so he knew the torra and lots of scripture, Paul had a roman and Jewish citizenship, Paul also knew many languages and was very smart and Paul preached to many gentiles.

God has always been working in my life even though I didn’t know it. He put me in a great community of kind people. He lead my family to a good church and had been working in me through my friends and family. God is creating me to be a follower of Jesus and a hopefully a good Christian example.

Bible PBL – Afghanistan

A few weeks ago we got assigned a country and a group. We had to start by research about Christian persecution on our own and then writing our own research paper. Then we got together with our group. We made a hut out of blankets to represent a underground church. We made a poster with facts about things that are happening in Afghanistan. We set out slips of paper for people to write what they learned and they could share it with their friends. We also set out a donation box for The Voice of The Martyrs and we gained a lot of money for them.

Theme Writing

This is Love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

1 John 4:10-11

This year we should be a very loving class because our theme this year is “Lost in Love”. Lost in Love means that we should be so loving that we get lost in it and always love one another. We should be loving all the time not just when we are at school but everywhere we go show our love. I think this theme is great for 8th graders because we are leaders and we should be loving people. We can show our theme, Lost in Love, to others in our school and to people in the world.

I can show this theme many ways at school. I can show this theme at school by being nice to people and listening to people talk about something that they like or they are sad about, showing people you care. I could show the theme at my school by playing a game with someone at breaks. Another way I could show my theme is by talking to people I usually don’t and showing love to everyone.

As Christians, we can also show this theme to the world. I could pick up trash from people littering on sidewalks and other places. A way I could show love as a Christian is by being a good Christian example. Another way I could show love as a Christian is by being friendly to people and saying “Hi” to people as you walk by and being welcoming.

We can show our theme, Lost in Love, to others in our school and to people in the world. I should show love all the time if I am at school, sporting events or anywhere else. Lost in Love is a great theme for this year.

Beginning of Year Reflections

One thing that I enjoyed this year so far was being a leader with more freedom and I also like the teachers.

This year I learned a lot so far I learned math problems and solving equations. I learned a lot also in bible class about things I had never thought about before.

Something I am looking forward to this year is opportunities to be a good leader and doing things that I could not in other grades.

Summer 2017

I had a very fun summer this year. I went camping in Ellsworth, MI witch is a small city close to Cherlivoix, MI. I went with my family and we camped in tents, went swimming, kayaking, and went to near bye towns to get ice cream and more. Later that summer we drove up to Mathews, North Carolina for my cousins wedding. We stayed at a hotel for a night and went swimming. On the way back we stopped and saw many cool things. We stopped at Cumberland Gap National Park. We went hiking looked off the edge. This summer was veery fun and exciting. I cant wait for next summer.

African Union Day

Help all the people vote because some people cant vote because they cant get there and lots are in poverty.  Equal rights for all people. I enjoyed the debates and close debates. The hardest part of this project was getting and remembering the information about our country.
