New glitch hits Mars Curiosity rover; scientists expand upon findings

A new glitch was found in the mars rover on monday. It is said that it just made the rover stay in a safe, planning mode longer. The rover had stopped in February and along that time that it had stopped it swiched files. The Mars Rover has two files an A-file and a B-file, it was first on the A-file, but then switched to the B-file, which it back-up. Scientists has switched it back to standby mode because they didn’t want to cause the rover to explode. And in that case, if it did explode it would release radiation and cause a solar flare. The reason this is so bad is because this is the rover that will detect if life is sustainable on Mars. Recently again the rover switched its file back to B. Scientists said this will take a few days to recover. They did find the source of the problem though, some files were being deleted, but one of those files was connected to the files on the Mars Rover, that had gotten deleted.

My opinion is that this is a huge thing, this could lead the world to a whole new era. It is serious and this could potentially hurt the earth, and destroy all the research the scientists have been searching for. In a way this is a good thing because it does help the scientists know more about the rover and what could destroy it. To me this is just a setback; I am sure they will fix it.
