God at Work

God used Paul’s Roman citizenship to help him in his ministry. Since Romans were more respected in the political side of things they wouldn’t be treated as bad. God also used his past of living in a big town to his advantage. Paul had the knowledge of big cities, was to preach, how to preach and how to talk in front of big crowds. A way God can use me in his ministry is by preaching the word. Someday if I come across a non-believer then I can tell them about God. Maybe God gave me the gift of singing to spread his word If I sing Christian songs then maybe I could preach that way.

This is the picture of me and my group group for our Bible Persecution Project. We have been working for month on a project called the Christian Persecution project. We have done a lot of research and work. We found a lot of interesting facts about the persecution in China. On the day of the presentation we set up a table and presented our project. A lot of people had good questions. In the end our whole grade raised 1200 dollars for the ministry Open Doors. This is a ministry that helps with persecution in other countries.

Science Chain

I think the part that will work the best is, the twine piece, because it is actually strong compared to the other materials.

The part of our chain that will probably not work the best is, the paper rolls. We tested them and a couple of times they snapped.

We didn’t use the rubber bands, because we tried them but they stretched way to far, so we didn’t want them.

Beginning of the Year Reflection

One thing I have enjoyed this year, in school, was that the teachers try to make the school work fun. One thing I have learned this year is the geography around where Jesus’ ministry took place. One thing I am looking forward to this year is that we are going to Timber Wolf at the end of the year. They have go-carts, a giant swing, and much more stuff. This year is going to be great.

What I did This Summer.

What I did this summer was fun. I did a lot of quad riding with my friend. We made jump in our sandpit. It was 3 feet tall and you got about 15 feet of distance on it. The more speed you have the further you would fly. Me and my friend also went mud running. We almost sunk my big quad in mud. It got in the belt case and the quad would not move. We pulled it home with the tractor. My dad was not happy. THE END!!!

Invictus

1.How did you see reconciliation in the movie?

A lot of white and blacks in the movie used to hate each other in the movie but thought the new president and the rugby team they grew to like each other.

2.Pick one character and explain how you saw them change from beginning to the end.

I saw the coach of the rugby team change a lot in the beginning he was listening to his father and all of the things he said but in the end he was really nice and didn’t care what color skin you had.

How My Thinking Changed About Africa

Okay so today we were doing some things about Africa as a grade. We had to guess if people were from Africa or not. I got 9/22 I stink. But it helped me to see that there is a lot of diversity in Africa people look so different. Some people are white so there parents moved there when they were kids but some black people were born in the USA it’s just hard to tell.

S.S. Questions

What were some of the challenges you faced traveling through Europe on Thursday. = The custom agent Chesser was like being so difficult. Another thing was that you could only get to the UK from one country. Also As a worker I didn’t know there languages. At least it’s safer then letting everybody in.

Themes of the Old Testament

Conflict and Doubt

There was a lot of conflict and doubt in the Bible times. A couple of examples of this was when Israel kept struggling with the fact if God was real or not. They would always go astray and would worship other God’s like the other nations. Then God would send a nation to punish them. Then they would cry out to the lord and ask God to save them, then God would deliver them and they would believe for a while, then the cycle would start all over again. Also Jacob in the bible literally wrestled with God and God placed his hand on Jacob’s hip and it was dislocated. The picture I chose was a picture of nature, it shows God’s marvelous hand it also helps me believe some times if I’m struggling with the realization if God is real or not. I have learned from this though that this beautiful nature could not have been created by humans or by accident. There has to be a wonderful God.

Slavery/Salvation

In the bible times a lot of slavery and salvation happened. One time this happened was when Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers. Another example of this is when Moses was born into slavery. But every time God delivered them. Every time people intended harm but it was part of God’s great plan, and it turned out all right. The example I have is the water. It always stays the same, it goes through the water cycle but it always ends up as water again.

Sinai Law

In the bible times God gave us the ten commandments. Not to punish us but to protect us from the worldly ways. The laws covered every part of life and is the law of life. Some people do not follow some of the laws though. Some worship Technology, money and fame. The image I have is the safety on a gun. It keeps you from shooting kinda like the ten commandments, which keeps you from sinning.

Salute To The King

In the bible times there was a thing called the cycle of the judges. The way it would work was the people of Israel would sin and turn away from God, then God would sent a judge to teach them the right way again. After a while the Judge would die and the people would sin again. God would then send a nation to take over and exile the Israelites. They would cry out to God and God would save them. The the cycle would start all over again. Everyone back then did as they saw fit but did not serve the Lord. Today do we do what God wants or do we do what Culture wants. A connection I have with this lesson is Video Games. Do I want to play video games like the culture wants, or do I want to study Bible Memory like God wants?

Symbol of the lamp

In the bible times God promised that he would send Jesus through the line of David. And he said Jesus would be the light of the world. Some people were wondering why Jesus would go through David’s line because he made many mistakes. But God said David was a man after God’s Own Heart. The Symbol I chose was a lamp. Because Jesus is the light of the world.

Something is rotten

In the bible times Israel had a lot of rotten kings. God sent Elijah to talk to the kings and try to get them to change. Nobody listened to Elijah. So after a while of trying Elijah got tired of talking to the people and told the king to go to the top of Mt. Carmel. At the top Elijah said make a alter and sacrifice a ram on it and call out to your God to light it. They did and nothing happened. Then Elijah said pour a ton of water on mine and once they had done this Elijah called out to the lord and the lord lit it on fire. In this story the kings did as they saw fit. They didn’t care what God wanted and instead did and they wanted. My symbol is a king. Because that reminds me of that story.

Slide To Destruction

In the bible times there was a lot of sin. King after king of Israel worshiped baal the Idol. So did the people. The way God would deal with this though is that he would send a mother nation like Babylon to take them over. There were only two good kings in the time of the bad kings though. But still the people sinned so they were conquered again. They didn’t care what God wanted and instead did and they wanted. My symbol is a no devices sign, Because whenever I get in trouble my technology gets taken away. This is nothing as bad as getting taken over by Babylon but it’s still a punishment.

A Savior

In the bible times. There was a thing called the sinia covenant. The people would always break it so God decided to write it on there hearts. This covenant did not require sacrifices because Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. After that God gave to David a the davidic covenant. This covenant had no requirement if one person broke the covenant the other one would stay true to his word. Also Isaiah gave the people pictures of Jesus that they could relate to. The picture I chose was a picture of a heart. It reminds me that the covenant is on your heart instead of on paper or stone tablets.

Native American Documentary (We the 7th)

This is a reflection on the Native American Documentary that we watched on a field trip. The things we did 100 years ago were mean. They took indians children away from there family and sent them all to school. They then beat them if they didn’t obey, and many of them died. They would then throw them in a pile outside. The worst part was is that most of them were run by churches. It was also really interesting when they showed us how they made baskets and when we walked through the exhibit. It was very fun.

Living On One Dollar Reflection

I feel like it would be kind of fun to live like that for a while and manage funny that way an just try to survive but if I were to do it for my whole entire life I would be wish I were not poor. I wonder how all of those people are all so nice to each other. Maybe since they all go through stuff it’s kind of together like are 7th grade community. I noticed how the market was laid out so I wonder what people do when they don’t have anything to sell so they don’t have any money. I used to think poor was just no money and not a nice house but when I watched the video now I know that they have to worry about food. We should donate and help them out.

Feet Like a Deer!

Ibex

God give me feet like a ibex so i can figure out problems in life like a ibex jumping rock to rock 1000 feet from the ground without any fear.

The Declaration of Independence

What I know about the Declaration of Independence…

  • The rumor about John Hancock’s signature is that he wrote it so big because he said he didn’t want the king to use his glasses to read it.
  • That it binds together the country of america.
  • And that it lists a lot of reasons that America pulled away from Great Britain.

Here are some pictures.John Hancock's signature

The constitution.

The Boston Massacre

In the boston massacre I think it was the British soldiers fault because…

After eight months in custody Preston was put on trial for murder.

Because soldiers were prohibited from using their weapons except by authority of a magistrate Captain Preston and eight of his men were arrested and charged with murder.

And once one shot was fires many followed.

And thats why I think the colonists did not start it.
