My absolute favorite part of disney was in my resort because we had cable and air conditioning. This summer I also I went to Minnesota to see my family and friends at the old farm house.

Declaration of Independence

When the Declaration of Independence was written they messed up more than you would have thought. When they wrote it they didn’t have any computers to type on, So thomas Jefferson made his own kind of computer. This was called the portable desk. It was all the rage back in the 1770’s. Anyways, Back to the real copy… on that copy there actually is some words scratched out or they put in a carrot ^ (that sign)  and put in the word or words that they forgot to write. Total 56 or more people signed the Declaration of Independence.Jefferson's+deskdetail

The Boston Massacre

By: British Soldier, Samantha Meyer

7 Months after the Boston Massacre.

We, the british soldiers were surrounded by an angry mob of colonists swearing and cursing at us and sputtering very horrid threats at us… then suddenly they began to drifting towards the custom house fully armed with knifes, snowballs, and clubs… so Captain Preston told us to put out our bayonets. Then the colonists began to charge at us, so we pushed them back…With our bayonets. Then later the colonists began to yell “Fire, Fire”And one of our men thought that it was Captain Preston. In conclusion he shot at the colonists, All the other men thought that they had to fire to. But I stood back and did not shoot at all I watched 11 colonists scream in pain and Captain Preston scream when he was hit on the arm with a giant club.   So now our reliable captain preston was hung for supposedly calling for his men to fire at the colonists.

Mrs. Genzink

It was hard for all of us to let go of one of our most loved teachers here at school… Mrs. Genzink she was a very nice and Godly Woman. In fact our class hasn’t stopped grieving about her and her family. We started a tradition that since there are 5 members of the Genzink family that every shcool day we would pray for a different Genzink. Monday, is Mr. Genzink, Tuesday, Was Mrs. Genzink, Wednesday, is Brianna, Thursday, is Katrina, And Friday, is  Annika. We all miss here and our school isn’t the same without her.

FOLLOW THE HARD BUT STRAIGHT PATH

BY SAMANTHA MEYER

Have you ever had to make a hard choice, did you take the hard but straight path. When I read Dangerous Journey it changed my faith, my thought of following temptation, and trusting God.

When you read this book it could change your faith.
When you read this book it could change your faith because if you follow the hard but straight path you realize that you are like Christian, facing many temptations before you die. Christian was not on his way to death, he was on his way to the Celestial City. On the way to the Celestial City Christian and Hopeful were tricked by the Deceiver. He trapped them in his net, but Christian and Hopeful did not give up. An Angel came and cut the net and they were free. When I read the book it changed my faith, it felt like God was talking to me and saying that “ If you follow the hard but straight path it will help you trust me and love me even more then ever.”

When you read this book it could change your thought of temptation.
When you read this book it could change your thought of temptation because whenever Christian did not follow the hard but straight path, he somehow got back to where he made the wrong choice and went the opposite way. For example, when Christian was on his way to the Celestial City he saw a meadow and the other way was a gravel path with the scorching hot sun on the gravel. Christian and Hopeful went on the meadow and ran into doubting castle. They ended up staying there for about 3 days, until they escaped the dungeon and went back to the gravel path and wrote a sign in the meadow that said, “ Over this fence is on the way to Doubting Castle kept by Giant Despair who hates the owner of the Celestial City and seeks to kill all pilgrims who trespass.” When I read the book I thought that I could resist temptation on my own. Now I know that God can help me resist temptation.

When you read this book it could change your trust in God.
When you read this book it could change your trust in God because when Christian would start to lose trust in God he would think about the Celestial City and gain back his trust. His friends Faithful and Hopeful would also help him trust God and have lots of hope in God. They also helped him in the times of temptation. When Christian was in the slough of Despond he never gave up and he kept going. When Christian made it to the cross he got new clothes because he put all his trust in God. When Christian was in the valley of the shadow of death and he saw the mouth of Hell itself he put his trust in God and made it across safely. Just like Christian placed his trust in God during the challenges of his journey to complete the journey with hope and trust in God I’ve learned to put my hope and trust in God and he helps me when I need it most.

I hope that you will read this book and realize all that God does for us. He loves us so much that He let his only son die for all of our lives. How Great is our God! If you follow the hard but straight path it could change your faith, your thought of temptation and encourage your trust in God.

SAVING THE REEFS

The article saving the reefs talks about how in the coral reef it is has lost over 50% of its coral over the last 30 years and how they are helpful to all the fish who need to eat coral for food. This is caused by water pollution and water waste and garbage. the longer they wait the more waste and garbage they see.

I found this on the time for kids website. (Almost 97% of the world’s water is salty or otherwise undrinkable. Another 2% is locked in ice caps and glaciers. Only 1% is usable for agriculture, manufacturing, and personal needs.)

VANISHING ACT

Every year hundreds of rhinos are being illegally hunted. Rhinos are disappearing from the savannah. Millions of bats in north america have died from white nose syndrome. It’s possible that humans help spread the disease. Orangutans are disappearing from the rain forest because their homes are being cut down.

LEEPIKE RIDGE

Meanwhile Leonard, Phil, Lotus, and Sirens are the bad guys they are trying to steel from Elisabeth, and Elisabeth’s husband died in the underwater cave and reg knew Elisabeth’s husband.

Solution

The solution in this book is that Tom and Reg and argus make it out of the underwater cave and when they broke out their tunnel that they crawled out of was leading up to Elisabeth’s bedroom. Right under her bed.

All Kids In The World Should Have Clean Water

Have you ever thought about the other kids in the world that do not have clean water like us.  I think that we are spoiled with all of the clean water that we have. Did you know that more than 750 million people in the world do not have clean water to drink. Children in foreign countries have dirty water. The distance to walk for clean water is too far for women and children. Children are dying from drinking dirty water. Without CLEAN water life is difficult. All kids in the world deserve to have clean water.

The distance to walk for clean water is too far for women and children. For example In “A Long Walk To Water it tells a true story of a boy named Salva and a girl named Nya if you like this essay I recommend you to read that book. If you were living There would you want to go to get water twice a day every day I wouldn’t. You could get thirsty and drink all the water. While I was doing my research I found a story that went like this For one day, I am doing what millions of poor women in world are doing right now all around the world: I am carrying water. Their families need water. And the only way they can just get it is to hoist it onto their backs or heads in cans and buckets. It is a never ending job that in many countries takes up most of the day than anything else the women do.

I’ve joined a group of women from this tiny desert village in southern Ethiopia, one of the poorest countries in the world. The capital, Addis Ababa a rapidly expanding city where steel and glass skyscrapers rise above acres of tin roofed shanties, it is 400 miles and 15 hours away by land cruiser over disintegrating asphalt and hard packed dirt roads to get to the capital.

One girl in the group, 14 years old wearing a patched purple dress, has fallen, Several of us try to get her back on her feet. She is pinned down by her heavy load of water on her back. Our own loads make it hard for us to lift her up. The path is on a steep slope and our feet slip on loose gravel.

This is life for millions of women in poor countries. They routinely walk four or five miles a day to get water. they go out with empty containers. But heading home, they are often hauling more than 40 pounds of water. Another story is When Jaclyn was in first grade her school did a water walk with their family groups. We had to walk to a stream down the hill with a milk jug. than bring the milk jug back up the hill which was about a mile. In many developing countries, women and girls walk on average over 3.5 miles each day to fetch water. Women often spend more than 15 hours per week gathering water. Women walk an average distance of four miles daily to get clean water.

Without water life is difficult. Because of the dirty water it affects education. Many children are frequently absent from school because they are collecting water or are sick with water-related diseases. It is also difficult to recruit good teachers to work in schools where there is no clean water. It is very important for kids big and small to have clean water. We get spoiled by having filtered CLEAN and COLD water. Lack of clean water and toilets costs sub-Saharan Africa 5% of its Gross Domestic Product every year. The hours spent collecting water or suffering from water-related diseases reduce the time people can spend earning money or growing food.

Children are dying because of the dirty water. Unsafe water and poor sanitation cause diarrheal diseases, which kill over 500,000 people every year and lead to malnutrition; parasitic infections such as bilharzia and hookworm; and water-washed diseases including the eye infection trachoma and skin infections such as scabies.(those are all different diseases)

I hope that you understand that every kid in the world deserves to have clean water. I wrote this essay because kids and women walk too far for clean water, Children are dying from dirty water, and life without water is very difficult.

Health reasons and it makes their lives last longer with fresh clean water. They could Die of health issues if they don’t it will not be good for them and they could die. It is not fair that they were born into poverty and we weren’t.

Every Kid Should Have a Preschool Buddie

Every Kid Should Have A Preschool Buddie

by

Samantha

Did you know that more than ⅓ of our school is preschoolers so we should get to know them than maybe they will stay at our school until 8th grade is over. Some people partly disagree with me that preschool buddies are a terrible idea some people think that it is a waste of time but I disagree What I think this says about me is that I was wrong Every kid should have a preschool buddie because you can make friendships with them. Every kid should have a preschool buddie because the older student learns responsibility. Every kid should have a preschool buddie because the preschoolers are no longer afraid of “ BIG KIDS”.

Every kid should have a preschool buddie because you can make friendships with other students. For example when I first met my buddie I didn’t even remember her name but when we saw each other she remembered my name THat is my first reason why every kid should have a preschool buddie.

Every kid should have a preschool buddie because the older student learns responsibility. Also the preschooler gets influence on what to act like in school. This is important because if one of the fourth graders is an only child or the preschooler they know how to care for others. This connects with that if the preschooler is spoiled they will not always get what they want the older student can explain to them that they do not always get what they want. This is my second reason why every kid should have a preschool buddie.

Every kid should have a preschool buddie so than if the preschooler does not have older siblings they are no longer afraid of “ BIG KIDS”.  This makes me realize that when I was in young fives I was afraid of my buddies Rachel and Sarah I was afraid of them when they were in fourth grade now I am in fourth grade and I know how the preschoolers feel. Another example is Little preschoolers start to gain trust in you this is giving me the idea that last year me and my buddie Mackenzie held hands on the way to Captain Sundae in the beginning of the year she would hardly go near me. This is my third reason why every kid should have a preschool buddie.

Now you know why Every Kid Should Have a Preschool Buddie because You can make friendships with the preschooler, The older student learns responsibility, and the little kid is no longer afraid of the “ BIG KID”.

I suggest that if your school does not have preschool buddies talk to the principle at your school and if your school does not have preschool than you can do kindergarten buddies. I hope that you now understand that Every Kid should Have A Preschool Buddie.

What do you believe?

I believe that jesus Died for everyone. I also know that I am blessed to have a house, a bed, a family, also food and water. I learned that We all have a Redeemer in our lives God is our redeemer Even though it is hard to believe it is still true.

GOD LOVES US ALL EQUALLY

How does this affect what you do every day?

When I go to school and do devotions or Bible I can believe that it is true. Mr. Bouman makes it clear and understandable. I hate to see him leave next year.

What do you want people to know about your faith?

That I am a christian, I have a great family that teaches me about Jesus everyday, I do devotions every night at home.

What are your goals as a christian?

  • Sometime soon to make profession of faith
  • love others who don’t love you
  • Be kind to those who are overlooked
  • Get to know God more and more.
