What did you learn that surprised you?
It was interesting to learn that every country has some type of different government than the US. I didn’t know there were so many countries with lots of Political parties. I knew the US had four, but I didn’t realize that other countries like Poland, have 8 or more.
How do you think about yourself or your world differently, because of what you learned?
I see the world as a more structured place. I never knew there were so many people that over-see their country. Every country has a organized government- which I never knew.
How were your countries’ government similar to the US?
– In structure? Poland and the Philippines have a Republic type government, just like the US. All 3 of the countries I researched, have the 3 branches of government.
– In how they dealt with issues? In the Philippines, there was a shooting on Friday, which made the President call members of a clan occupying a Malaysian village, to surrender to avoid bloodshed. I didn’t really understand this issue/current event, but I do know that the US would not have handled it like this.
I think that Philippines handled that very well and didnt like over act and kill people because of it.
