Out of all the acts we have studied in our time looking at the road to the revolutionary war which do you consider to be the most harshest and why?

I think that the Quartering Act was the harshest because the soldiers walked in to the colonists house and the colonists did not have an option but to care for the soldiers. The colonists had to feed the soldiers three meals a day and had to do what ever the soldier wanted up to food, drinks, clothes etc.  I also believe that this was the harshest because the colonists had to care for the soldiers and barely care for their own kids and themselves, I think thats a little wrong . In conclusion I think that this as the harshest because it was unacceptable for the colonists and keep in mind the colonists not getting a lot of money $ so they had to feed the soldiers and eventually got poor for what the soldier had been eating, and drinking and using the colonists money and  the soldiers had there own room and the kids and the parents had to share their meal, and bed. And the soldiers got their own bed and meal meanwhile the kids and parents shared all of their stuff. And I think that thats the harshest act because the soldiers had whatever they wanted and colonists had to provide their stuff up to food, drinks, clothes etc.

Why was the Declaration of Independence important to the colonists?

I think that the Declaration of Independence was needed for the colonists because it was there ticket to freedom. I also think that it was important because thecolonists wanted to have independence and not be ruled by the other people. The King and Parliament wanted to rule the colonist but the colonists wanted independence so that is why Thomas Jefferson, John Hancock, Benjamin Franklin, and a lot more wrote the Declaration of Independence. After the colonists heard about the Declaration of Independence got written by Thomas Jefferson, John Hancock, Benjamin Franklin, and a lot more men, theywere very happy to hear about what they did and they had freedom!!! And they were free from all the acts that they placed on them and they all were very happy of the New Declaration of Independence and very thankful to the people who wrote it.
