Theme Writing

1 John 4:10-11

This is love, not that we loved God but that He loved us and sent His son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

I have always looked forward to coming up with a theme for the year, and now that our grade has chosen one, we have to live up to it. We can show our theme, Lost in Love, to others in our school and to people in the world.

I can show this theme in many ways at school. I can show love the kids in my family group by talking to them, and by showing them that I care about what is going on in their lives. I still remember both of the 8th graders who were in my family group from second grade. The love that they showed to me helped shape me into the person I am today. I want to show the same love to the younger kids in my family group. I can show love to teachers by respecting them and getting my work done on time. I can show love to other students by caring about what is going on in their lives. I remember when Audrey asked me about something that I shared at the 7th grade campfire. It meant a lot to me, and it made me feel like she actually cared.

As Christians, we can also show this theme to the world. We can show love in the world by accepting people no matter what. I think the world would be a much better place if we could learn to love people of different religions and cultures, without judging them based on a what we think we know. We can love others by inviting them to church or church events. (Like Youth Group.) They can learn what it means to be loved and how to love others in the church. We can show love by caring about the needs of others, and by supporting them through whatever they are going through. It would be very hard to go through something hard without the support of the Christian community. They can pray for you and support you. When we were adopting Lou, our church community prayed for us and showed us love.

We can show our theme, Lost in Love, to others in our school and to people in the world. I think that as Christians it is important to show our theme to others. I think that this theme is important for everyone, not just the people here at ZCS.
