God planned Paul’s life so that he could be a witness for many people. Paul was able to speak and understand multiple languages, such as Greek and Aramaic. Paul was born a free Roman citizen, meaning that he received a little bit better treatment, one time he was in prison and he was being whipped, but because he was a roman citizen he was later released. I speak Spanish and English, I can communicate with people from other countries and be able to spread Gods word to more people. I want to help people, I want to teach people about Jesus and how he died for us.

It has been challenging to not be able to see friends. It has been challenging getting the schoolwork done on time.  It has been rewarding to wake up later than usual. listening to music, doing my puzzle, watching TV and reading. I am hoping to grow spiritually in my faith in God and also as a person I am hoping to become more independent as I am home alone more often because my parents are at work.

The Stoning of Stephen

While the number of Christians was increasing, more people were being overlooked, the Hellenistic Jews, Jews that adopted the Greek language and culture, complained that the Hebraic Jews were overlooking their widows and others. So the disciples had to choose some people to be in charge of the food distribution. Stephen was a christian who was one of seven chosen by the disciples to be in charge of food distribution. Stephen was seized and brought before the Sanhedrin, and he told them the story of how God led the Israelite’s from slavery into the promised land and about Moses and David and Solomon. He then told the Sanhedrin that they still weren’t listening to God even after all God has done for them, he called them a stiff necked people, and that their hearts and ears are still uncircumcised. And he asked if there was ever a prophet that their ancestors did not hunt down and try to kill, and that they even killed those who prophesied the coming of Jesus, and that then they killed Jesus. Stephen said that they had received the law and they broke it. When the members of the Sanhedrin had heard this they became enraged, they grind their teeth at him in disgust. Then Stephen said that he saw the heavens open and he saw God and the son of man standing at his right hand. When the Sanhedrin heard this they all rushed him and brought him outside the city gates, and began to throw stones at him, and the witnesses laid their coats in front of Saul of tarsus, a young pharisee, who would later help and become the same people who he was persecuting. While Stephen was being stoned he began to pray, he prayed that the Lord would receive his spirit, and that the Lord would not hold this sin against the stoners. Right after he finished praying he fell asleep.

1.  What did you do for the Stephen project (ie. newspaper, comic, etc.)?

I did a newspaper article.

2.  What did you do well on the project?  (or what are you proud of and what you want me to look at when I grade it?)

I think I did well explaining the story and the details of the story.

3.  How do you think you would feel if you were really observing this event?

I would feel mad, sad and disappointing that the Sanhedrin had Stephen killed.

4.  Re-read Acts 7:57-58. How would you feel towards Saul?

I would feel angry at first but after seeing how he changed and how he started preaching Gods word I would not be able to stay mad.

5.  What do you think encouraged these early Christians? In other words, why did the early Christians keep up the faith despite the persecution?

Because they knew what God had planned and how in the end they would come out on top and be able to go to heaven.

This year I have enjoyed camp kayaking and canoeing with my friends. We went way back into the weeds and we got stuck because it was so shallow. I have learned about God and about Israel and how God gave them the promised land. I look forward to making new friends throughout the year and into high school.

this summer I had a lot of fun at my grandparents cottage on lake macatawa. I fished on the dock and caught catfish, perch, bass and sheep head. we wake surfed behind my grandpa’s boat, it is way harder than it looks. I went tubing with Gavin, Ryder, Brennan, Silas and james. I went to Alaska for 2 weeks and we saw bears, caribou, dall sheep, moose and fox. We went fishing for halibut and salmon in Alaska, I caught a 40 pound ling cod. we emptied out our house to sell because my mom is getting married in September. we went up north to my aunt and uncles cottage on silver lake for a couple of days and we went on the dunes. I went up north to stony lake for wave rave, it is a stand up jet ski free riders event. I do not like that summer break is getting shorter and shorter.

Mi tema es el consumo, nuestro grado de cambio algo de tu rutina como tomar duchas cortas o tomar duchas con solamente agua fría. Yo aprendí que los estados unidos tiene una PNB mayor que la de india y china combinados. El consumo es cuando alguien compra un servicio o un producto. los países en vías de desarrollo no tienen muchos personas que pueden comprar mucho y por eso no tienen una economía tan fuerte. Los estados unidos usa 24% del petróleo extraído de la tierra.

Soy diferente de las personas que no tienen porque yo sí tengo, pero no pienso 2 veces cuando boto algo, ellos quizás no botan nada para qué tienen algo para comer mañana. Yo soy similar a ellos en qué tengo deberes y cosas que necesito hacer. Aprendí que nosotros pensamos de un dólar diferente de como alguien en áfrica piensa en un dólar. Aprendí que nosotros no pensamos de sí estamos gastando agua, cuando en Sudamérica personas mueren por usar agua sucia y nosotros usamos galones y galones sin pensar. Aprendí que estamos usando más qué necesitamos mientras que los que necesitan lo que usamos no lo tienen y a veces mueren a causa de lo.

Yo creo que seguir a Jesús con respecto a esto significa no botar tanta basura, si hay comida restante cómelo mañana. Significa ayudar a los que necesitan ayuda. Significa hacer algo para cambiar la vida, hasta sí solo es una manera pequeña, de alguien. Me enseñó que siempre hay una manera de enseñar alguien de él y qué personas pueden ver a él en las acciones de otros. También significa poder ayudar a otros que son menos afortunados que yo.

Está tema me ha afectado en como nosotros no nos importa de cómo las personas que son afectados por esta injusticia están y qué tiene. Eso me hace triste pensar que hay personas muriendo de hambre mientras que nosotros no tenemos más espacio para comida en la refrigerador. Está tema me ha afectado en como He cambiado como que botó en la basura y que guardo para comer después. Está tema me ha afectado en como pienso de los países pobres, no es que no tratan de hacer algo para cambiar su situación, pero nosotros usamos tanto que no hay cosas para ellos. He cambiado en como veo pobreza, antes cuando pensé en pobreza, pensé en áfrica, pero ahora sé que en áfrica no todos son pobres, y en otros partes del mundo hay lugares tan pobres como algunos países en áfrica.

Yo creo que debemos responder con hacer algo para mejorar la vida de algunos de las personas que son afectados por esto. Yo creo que mi papel en la comunidad internacional con respecto al consumo es contar a otros sobre el consumo y qué podemos hacer para hacerlo más justo. Yo respondo al consumo con un poco de tristeza en cómo somos y qué tenemos tanto mientras que otros no tienen nada. Uno de los resultados tangibles es que no tomo duchas tan largas y trato de ser más conservativo de cuanto agua uso. Yo respondo a lo que he aprendido con ideas de como mejorar la situación de las personas afectados por esto.

La preparación empezó 2 semanas antes de que hicimos la union africana. hicimos un parafo de la democracia en nuestro país, aprendimos mucho del gobierno y como trataban a los ciudadanos.

yo aprendí que la democracia es muy complicado y toma muchas personas trabajando juntos para hacerlo correctamente.

yo pensare diferente en cuanto a pensando en como África puede ser democrático y que no todos son regímenes autoritarios y que algunos son muy avanzados en la democracia.

Ghana cree que debemos avanzar la democracia. Ghana tiene una clasificación de 6.63, también tiene el puesto de 57 de 167. La UA debe avanzar la democracia porque somos una democracia imperfecta pero queremos avanzar nos.

La democracia es un gobierno en que las personas toman decisiones, también que todos tienen derechos y oportunidades iguales. Una democracia plena es una democracia que es casi perfecta, todos tienen derechos iguales y son involucrados en procesos electorales. En un democracia plena, las personas saben qué está pasando en su gobierno y tienen prensa libre. Un régimen autoritario no tiene las mismas libertades que una democracia, en un régimen autoritario el líder tiene todo el poder y no le importa lo que otros piensan de sus decisiones. Un régimen autoritario quiere que no hay libertad y que las personas no hacen sus propias decisiones.

Ghana tiene una clasificación de 6.63 y el puesto de 57 de 167. Somos una democracia imperfecto. Los peores categorías son funcionamiento de gobierno, es un 5.71 y también en libertades civiles tenemos un 6.18 Significa que somos uno de los mejores democracias de áfrica, pero podríamos ser mejor que eso. Recibimos ese resultado porque en las 1960’s, 1970’s 1980’s y las 1990’s ghana fue gobernado por él ejercito y no hicieron mucho para hacer un gobierno bueno, pero ahora son una democracia y el gobierno funciona bien.

Ghana si quiere avanzar la democracia en el país y en todo el continente. Porque eso hace que todos van a estar mejores y haría que la economía crezca porque todos tienen derechos iguales entonces podrán tener un trabajo. En mi opinión todos los países de áfrica pueden mejorarse en participación política y procesos electorales y pluralismo. Yo creo que la UA debe enseñar a los gobiernos de los gobiernos de los países los beneficios de tener una democracia. No deben estar forzados a cambiar, eso no sería democracia.

Si, antes de ver el video, cuando dices Africa yo pensé en un desierto con algunos ríos y lagos y todos los que viven ahí fueron pobres y que no tenían un chance de tener una vida como nosotros.

Ahora, después del video, veo que no es todo desierto y que no son todos pobres pueden tener vidas muy buenas como nosotros.

el peligro es que si solo ves una persona o un grupo de personas vas a solo pensar de ellos como eso y su nombre va a ser sinónimo con lo que piensas de ellos.
