Themes of the Old Testament
Names
I choose this picture of my name because my parents had to choose what I would be called. This is a reminder of our lesson. My parents choose my name, in the bible times God choose names for everyone to represent what they act like.
Conflict and Doubt
In my life I went through conflict and doubt with God. I wonder why I never met my Brother Caleb. This picture helps me remember that in life we will always go through conflict and doubt.
Covenant
For me a covenant I made with my parents to earn money for the Philippines trip. If I worked for a certain amount of hours at my mom’s daycare, I could earn money for my trip.
Call
God called my cousins to be missionaries in Mexico. They spread God’s love in another country.
Slavery/ Salvation
I choose a picture of a geode. In our life times can be ridged and feel like everything is wrong. That’s when Jesus comes around and makes us feel beautiful. When we are saved by Jesus his salvation comes and we are beautiful.
Sinai Law
I choose a picture of a helmet. Just like the 10 commandments, you don’t always want to follow them, but you know that they keep you safe.
Sent to the Promised Land
I spend more time on my phone then time reading my devotional book. I need time just to focus on God, not on all of the craziness in my life.
Salute to a King
Everyone did as they saw fit. For me I worry if I have the best clothes or the newest phone. I need God to be what I see fit.
Symbol of a Lamp
For me a battery reminds me of a lamp, it will continue doing what you need it for. In the bible David’s line lead to Jesus who is the ultimate light of the world.
Something Is Rotten
I choose a picture of social media apps because I waver between spending time online v.s. spending time for God.
Slide to Destruction
For me I focused on power and popularity, not on God’s love. So as a Philippines group, we went to ditto to help with Syrian Refugees. It changed my perspective on them in a very unique way. I was able to share God’s love to a girl named Rawan without even speaking her language. This is a picture of her, and it reminds me of sharing God’s love in a very amazing way.
A Savior
For me a cross necklace reminds me of what God did for me. He loved me enough to die for all of my sins.
