Alexander Hamilton

He was born in 1757 on Caribbean Island. His father abandoned his family when he was ten. Four years later his mother died. At 15 he became head clerk of the shipping company. He had formed a dark view of the nation. Two wealthy men sent him to America for college to study law. He was a general for George Washington. He began to hate the army, congress, world, and even himself. Later he became a lawyer in New York City. Those who opposed him became his enemies. His goal was to make his vision of AMerica a reality.  He had a government with checks and balances so no man had too much power. He was the driving force  behind the American Constitution. He had been trying to destroy Burr for 15 years.  In 1777 he was imparted in the constitution. He continued his attacks on Burr when he was able to be president within two years of office. He feels like it is a religious duty for him to destroy Burr and his carrier. He was involved in 11 affairs of honor.  He had a duel with Monroe. Years after the election were bitter one for him. In 1802 his oldest son made a duel against a man who argued against his father and Philip was killed. Hamilton was running for government in New York and was getting a new party. He and his followers spread rumors about Burr. He could not bring himself to apologies to Burr. He died July 12 at 2 pm. from the duel between him and Burr.

Aaron Burr

He was the first modern American politician. HE only had one choice and it was to defend his army. He became a lawyer in New York City. He wanted to become rich and powerful. He loved a good time. He roamed the woods in New York. He thought that women should have rights and reinvented politics. He used his charm to get followers. He became the new senator of New York. He had made a choice to be silent during the affair duel. His reputation had been destroyed. He challenged Hamilton to a duel. He could’t challenge Hamilton unless he had concrete evidence. He was charged of murder for shooting Hamilton in the duel. He died 1836 at 80 years old.

The Duel

It was at the New Jersey shore and was set for July 11, 1854. It changed American history. Burr and Hamilton did not tell his family. Hamilton brought judge Hamilton and a doctor. They loaded the guns in each others presence, then they took their positions 20 ft. apart and then had three seconds to fire. Burr shot and hit Hamilton, and he almost instantly fell to the ground. Then Burr went toward Hamilton and some say it looked like he had regretted shooting him. After the duel Burr returned home and ate  a hardy breakfast. Later Hamilton died on July 12. Later in Burr’s life had admitted to regretting shooting Hamilton. Burr died1836 at the age of 80 and was one of the first charged with murder.

My opinion

I think  that Burr should have shot Hamilton in the leg or somewhere that would not have killed him. Hamilton missed Burr for his shot. It was most likely intentional, maybe not. Although I really don’t think he should have shot and killed him. I don’t think that the answers to the problems between them would be solved in the duel, even if Burr would have shot him somewhere that wouldn’t kill him. I think they should have somehow come to an agreement without having to fight.
