¡Queridos Padres!

Thank you for filling out the form for the field trip to City on the Hill. We are looking forward to walking there and have the opportunity of been hand and feet of Christ here on Earth! Our date/time for the Jingle Jog will Wednesday 19th from 11:00 – 11:30 at the gym join us if it’s possible for you!

As first grade class, we sponsored a child from the Philippines. We raise money by selling different things. The first part it’s a Christmas-Card shop. This shop will be on the 19th of December. Please send your child with $1.00 in quarters to be able to buy a couple of Christmas cards.

From the immersion director
Wondering how kids learn the language? So are we! Join Betsy Sneller, a language researcher at Georgetown University (also known as Mr. Sneller’s daughter and a grad of ZCS), and Jodi Pierce, director of ZCS’s language immersion program, for a short presentation about language acquisition on Tuesday, December 11 at 7:00 in the media center. Betsy will talk about how researchers study language acquisition, what the field has uncovered so far, and some of the exciting questions they are still researching. Come with any questions you might have! The content will definitely be applicable for both immersion and non-immersion parents.

  • I can find parts (syllables) that I already know in words to help me
  • I can ask; Does it make sense? Does it look right?  (if it doesn’t go back and re-read)

  • I can say known words quickly and accurately
