My book is heaven is for real by Todd Burpo, with Lynn Vincent. in this book Todd’s son Colton was really sick and had to have surgery. when Colton came out of surgery he kept acting weird and then he said that he saw jesus and went to heaven. Coltons family had to Trust in God

Colton is really brave. Colton really didn’t care if he got killed anymore because he wanted to go back to heaven. Once when he and todd were coming out of a store and colton ran to the car on the other side of the road and almost got hit. Todd said that colton could get hit and die but Colton said he didn’t care because that means he could see God again.

Colton’s family couldn’t find a picture of jesus until a little girl painted him. Colton couldn’t explain Jesus’ face so his family showed him every picture of him that they could find and he said what was wrong with them. After a long time of showing him and asking “is this right?” they changed it to “what’s wrong with this one?” until a little girl who was having dreams about god in africa decided to teach her selfe to pant and painted Jesus’ face. When Todd asked what was wrong with this Colton just stared at it and said, “thats him”.

Todd is faithful. when colton was in surgery Todd went to a room and prayed to God but it really wasn’t like the “God i love you” kind of prayer it was more of the “God why?” prayer but it took faith to prayer i would’ve just not prayed at all and just trust in myself and not God. when Todd broke his leg he needed to be faithful that God would keep him from making it worse. and when he had breast cancer and he needed to have faith in God that it would go well and it did.

Trust in God. this book is really good because it is a true story and it is about a kid that goes to heaven and that doesn’t happen to often. so i really like this book it is one of the best i’ve read and it really means a lot just to know that heaven is real and it reassures me that i am saved by grace and that we are lucky that we have a trustworthy God that loves us very much.

nitrogen cycle

nitrogen in the atmosphere is absorbed into the ground to create nitrogen fixating bacteria. Also, plant matter is eaten by animals and becomes crud. In the ground the crud becomes decaying organic matter that either goes back into the air or becomes free nitrates, nitrates, or ammonia. If it becomes ammonia or nitrates/free nitrates it becomes denitrifying bacteria. the denitrifying bacteria goes back into the atmosphere. the nitrogen in atmosphere can become green and blue age in the water that fish eat. When the fish die they become decaying organic matter that turns into free nitrates, nitrates, or ammonia witch can become denitrifying bacteria and the cycle goes on.

Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock the rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had it’s foundation on the rock.

Last May our 8th grade went to Camp Rodger and picked out our  Our theme this year, “Built on the Rock”, means a lot to me as both an 8th grader at ZCS and as a Christian in the world

As a 8th grader in ZCS, this verse means that i need to show the school that God is in control. It also means that we need to show the younger kids that God loves them and he will always protect them. The verse also means that as long as I show people that I love God and put his words into practice others will know that God has control of my life and they will want to give God control of their life also.

As a christian, this verse means that my life is built on God’s foundation. It also means that God has control of my life. God made me who I am and I need to trust in him in order to not screw up my life. It also means that I can trust in God and he will keep me on the strait and narrow.

Our theme this year, “Built on the Rock”, means a lot to me as both an 8th grader at ZCS and as a Christian in the world This verse is pretty much saying that I need to trust in God and know that he will love me and protect me. I think that I need to show people that God is in control of my life.

The suitcase card reminded me of going to Nashville. I woke up with the piercing sound of my alarm. As soon as i got out i was in the kitchen grabbing my suitcase and running out the door. when we were at the parking lot and said goodbye to our moms. as soon as we got into the van it was like a sauna. we drove off for eight hours and finally reached our destination.

The key card reminds me of when i got locked out of my house. I came home from a walk and went to go inside. As I grabbed the door and turned the knob clink  the knob wouldn’t turn. After i left i went to my garage to find any thing to pick the lock with. I was searching like a owl searching for its prey. I couldn’t find anything then i remembered that i had my wallet. i grabbed my wallet out of my back pocket and got a gift card. I got to the door and picked the lock, i was in.

The ladder card reminds me of when i climbed Mount. Piska. At my house my mom, brother and I were sitting thinking of what to do. all of a sudden my mom squealed let’s climb mount piska! We thought about it and decided to go. when we got there we thought that it would be cool to count the steps. so up we went and started counting. 1,2,3,4,5…….. and so on so fourth.as soon as we got to the top we saw the number of steps on the ground. with a groan we said, “all that counting for nothing. but as soon as we got down we were sooo tired.

new addition

I like the new addition it is really cool. I like how they have more space and that we can connect the rooms and be a big class. I also like that we have closer classes so we don’t have to go to far. That is what I like about the knew addition. I also like that the whole area is close to our classrooms like the bathroom and the drinking fountain. I love that there is ac in the new addition so we don’t sweat in class.

African Union Day

African Union Day is when the 7th graders got together and did a meeting of a mock African Union. We were in groups that represented a country and we debated about what to take action about in Burundi. We made a resolution and we told the delegates about it and we voted for who had the best resolution.

the most significant thing to me was learning that Burundi had some conflict and that they were in trouble with the hutus and the tutsis

my fav. thing was debating.

Invictus response

In the beginning the guards didn’t like each other but as the movie progresses they come more accustom to each other and they ‘become friends’ because they eventually hung out a little bit more and played rugby and they finally at the end of the movie they all finally rode in the same car as the other race and don’t even care, and that is really when apartheid ended.

Pinaar and Mandela at first didn’t really know each other and then they had tea together and then Nelson got to know him a bit more and they became pretty good friends.

Africa

I learned that you cant tell if a person is a african by just looking at their faces. I also learned that African people have soooooo many languages in just one country. I learned that Africa isn’t that much different than the US because they have phones and internet but just not as many people have it. And that is what i learned from this.
