Living on one dollar reflection

Today in school we watched a movie (Living on one dollar). This movie was a documentary on how people living in poverty live and survive. Two college students went to live in Guatemala to see what poverty was like. They, just like the community, had not very much money (that they brought along). They lived just like people in poverty for 56 days.

I feel like that is a very eye opening experience to get to have empathy for those in need and to know how poverty may be like. It was cool to see how the students were called, in a way, to go experience poverty and how their lives were effected by it. It was also really cool to see the culture down in Guatemala and how that also would effect people in need. Another thing that I loved about the movie was when the locals openly shared the stories about their kids, finances, and the sacrifices they made to keep there family going.
