Last Thursday and Friday, Mr. Minkus and Mr. Lowe asked us to write down a bunch of words about we thought when we heard the word Africa. After we wrote down what we thought about the word, Mr. Minkus showed us the main words that we typed. Some of the main words were people, animals, desert, and many more. Then he showed us 22 faces on the screen and we had to say if they were born in Africa or not. I was surprised by some of the people that were african. I expected most of the people were black, but to my surprise some of them were black, but not all of them. Some of them looked Hispanic. I learned to not assume until you know about the people or thing you are learning about.
