Africa

My thinking and understanding has grown and my perspective has broadened by learning about all the different stats that we saw. I wonder why a lot of them have phones and not the food they need to eat. I also learned that there are so many languages in Africa and that is cool but at the same time it would be hard to communicate, I think they should narrow down there amount of common languages to about like 25 in all of Africa.

The Eagle Huntress Movie

I thought the film was really cool because I had never heard of hunting with eagles before and it looked really fun. Something that I found weird in the movie was the way they dressed. I like eagles and the gold eagle is no exception but my favorite animal is the harpy eagle because of the way it looks. I thought that that girl was really skilled at commanding the eagle and using it for hunting. I think it wasn’t really a documentary but it was a little bit. I think it was more in general that many people in Mongolia have done this and not just one person ever. I also think life would be tough being a nomad and living in many different places throughout the different seasons. It would also be very cold there and I probably wouldn’t like living there. Overall, it was a good film but I probably wouldn’t want to watch it again.

Running Wild

This short movie was the best one I thought by far of all movies we watched. It was about how these people wanted to see if the wolverines were coming down back to Utah by putting cameras out. We saw moose, bear, squirrel’s, lynx and one wolverine which proves that there are wolverines starting to come down to the Utah mountains very slowly.

Solar System Scale

I thought it was really cool how they made a actually real scale with real measurements. It was cool how they got the planets to light up and go in orbit around in that desert. It was weird that 7 miles across would not even fit pluto in their.

While the World Watched Reflection

Q:What are three things you learned about the history of the USA that you did not know before? Explain.

A:I learned the south was segregated a lot more than I thought it was especially Birmingham.

A:I also learned that black people were really sad when JFK the president died.

A:I also learned of the horrible things that white people did to black people back then and they thought it was ok.

Q:What would Jesus have done if he was in Birmingham during this time? Explain using specific examples.

A:I think for example if Jesus was in Birmingham when the bombing in the church took place he would’ve reached out to people and spent time grieving with people. He would’ve tried to teach the KKK about God just like he tried to teach the pharisees about God and try to change their hearts.

  1. Why do you think we read this book in Bible class and do you think we should do that again next year? Explain.

I think we read this book to open our blind eyes to see what really happened back then. I think the 6th graders should read the book next year because it is a good book.

  1. Finish this sentence. I used to think ______thinks that bad didnt happen____________ but now I think  ____that they do_________________________.
