Moses went to get the 10 commandments, he went up mount sinai where God would give moses two tablets with the 10 commandments on them. While he was gone the Israelites began to wonder if he would ever come back because it was taking a long time. So they decided to make an idol a golden calf. They had everyone bring all of their gold jewelry so that they could melt it all for the calf. Then they made the calf and had a party and worshiped the calf. Moses came down the mountain and saw the party, he got so made that he threw the tablets on the ground and they broke then he told the Israelites to melt the calf. Then he went back up sinai to get new tablets. My symbol is money because people often get greedy and do bad things for money which can give you power. I think that people have everyday things that they might put before God without even realising it.
