Newton’s Laws of motion

Law#1 – Law of inertia

An object at rest stays at rest unless acted on an object at motion stays in motion unless stopped.

  • I learned that if a car was riding along and there was a  wall they would stop and go flying through the windshield but if you have seat belt on you would stay where you are.

  • If you have a toilet paper tube and a box and cup pulse a ball the ball on the tube and the tube on the box with the cup on the bottom of all of that and you hit the box with something the ball would go in the cup and everything else would go some where else.

Law#2 – Law of F=ma

The greater the mass of the object being accelerated the greater the amount of force needed to accelerate the object.

  • The lighter the object the easier to push it the heavier  the object the harder to push it.

  • Acceleration is produced when force acts on a mass

    Law#3 – Force-Pairs

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

  • If you tried pushing a cart with wheels and you had wheels on you the cart would go forward and you would go back.

  • Have you ever shot a gun well it has a kick when the gun goes back a bullet is going out the front.

How can I apply this to my pinball machine

1#Law. I could put a tube and a marble on top and have the marble that is rolling knock it down then you would have two marbles.

2#Law. I could have it push something thats heavy and if it stays there for about a minute its game over for you.

3#Law. I could put rubber bands on the side and when the marble hit it the rubber band another ball would come out of that little space and it would be harder to keep them in at the same time.
