Theme 7- Slide to destruction

This part of the bible is in repeat. Israel/Judah sins, prophets challenge and sometimes the people come back to the lord. If they don’t then punishment happens. They get attacked by another county but since God is not with them they lose and get brought into exile. My image is a landslide because every time I sin causes a landslide with God. If I am not careful then eventually my road will be closed. The road is a relationship with God. I need to listen to what God is saying because another wise I will be exiled from God.

Theme 8- A Savior

Gods brand new covenant through Jesus, Makes heaven come to this broken world that I live in. The picture I chose Is a picture of a flashlight in a dark room. Jesus is the light. If you ever have been in a power outage when it is dark out it is scary. Normally when you have power you just flip the light switch. In a power outage, you only have light from your flashlight, and that is what Jesus does. I can not wait for Jesus’s kingdom. There is a cool verse where the wolf lives with the lamb in Gods kingdom. That seems crazy to us, but since God made all of them, it can happen.

The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. (Isaiah 11:6) Nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37)

Theme 5- Salute to a king

There are two types of kings, Nagids (representative of God) and Meleks (war kings.) The people of Isreal wanted a warrior king but God wanted a Nagid. The picture I chose was a man Saluting. I need to choose who I salute to. The things of this world like meleks, or Godly things. Like prayer and worship. (Nagids) In the end, all the things of this world, (meleks) will be destroyed.

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. (Matthew 6:19-20)

Theme 4- Sent to a promised land

When the Israelites were going into the promised land they had to Trust Joshua and God. I chose this picture of Israel just to show how long they had to walk to get there. I Have a long walk in my lives. I nee d to trust God on this walk. If I do then God will give me blessings like he did to the Israelites. I wander on this walk like the Israelites did. “Chose today who you will follow.” (Joshua 24:14) Be strong and courageous. (Joshua 1:9)

Theme 3- Call

God is calling us to use our gifts to spread the news.  Calling is how we respond to Gods covenant promises. like how He was calling Abraham Issac and Jacob. I also had to have faith in God like Abraham when he was ready to sacrifice his son. Each one of our gifts is different. My picture is a phone because it is what you use to call people, and God is calling us to do our part in spreading the gospel.

Theme 2- Covenant

There are two different types of covenants conditional – If you stick to your side then I will stick to mine kind of thing. Unconditional – NO MADER WHAT! We, humans, need the unconditional covenant because we are sinners. For my picture, I chose the constitution because the founding fathers had to come up with all those rules that everyone had to follow. The constitution is a conditional covenant- If you obey the rules you will not end up in jail. I am grateful that Jesus’s new covenant is an unconditional one. Another wise I would mess it up and get the punishment: death.

Theme 1- Names

Names are very important.

Everyone’s name means something. Mine means YAHWEY is salvation. I think that is really cool, that my name means that God saves us. Names in the old testament were very important because they described who you were. El means creator God and YHWH means loving God. The picture I chose is A name tag because everyone’s name means something different.  It’s awesome how God is a powerful God, a loving God, and a creator God all at the same time.

Immigration Day 2018

Hi readers,

We had an immigration day where people who have immigrated to the USA come and talk to us. it was cool to listen to other peoples stories. One guy came to be close to his family. One lady came to be married.  there are a lot of cool stories. But we should not disrespect them because we were all immigrants once.

Hey readers,

We have started a unit on immagration. So we went to sugatuck center for the arts. and we got to meet the actual artecs who made all the pictures. The pictures were of things that the boarder patrol dumped becasue they were consitered letal or un useful. The sad part it that some of those itums were reminders of their family. I am intrested to see what projects we will do

Dollar a day

Hello readers!

Its a new year in 7th grade read this on some things we have done already.
Today we watched a video on some college students who went to Guatemala to live on a dollar a day. like most of the people there. I saw a lot of people who looked like they did not have enough food to eat. This is a foreign concept to us Americans who mostly have a lot of food on the table. It would have to take some nerve to leave all their food behind and go to a country that was starving. What was most meaningful to me was that one guy who was just as poor as everyone else, when he saw someone in need he gave them what they needed. From doctor bills to food and stuff. also, all the kids were just so happy even though they did not have Fortnite, TV or pizza to eat. They were happy with what little things they had. We could learn a lot from all the people in poverty.

Thanks
