African Union Day

African Union day was about coming up with a resolution for Burundi. Burundi is one of the poorest countries in Africa and has major conflict with the Hutu and Tutsis. They are also having major problems with the Government and their president. Because of all this there are many refugees and they don’t know where to go and don’t have food and supplies that they need. The 7th grade was split into 2 groups and we debated and talked about what would be a good resolution for the AU (African Union) could use to stop this problem.

The most significant thing I learned or realized what it’s like to be our country and debate and argue about a resolution that the AU could use. It was very calm in the beginning but once we got into it, it got really crazy and intense. This project was very different and it made you realize what countries and business go through to make a good decision. It was also good to learn about how to debate and argue on different topics.
