The Outsiders Essay

The Outsiders was a good book. But I think that I would’ve liked the book better if I read in english, but reading it in spanish is fine, just probably not my preferable language to read a book in. Also what I liked about this book is that it had a lot of action, but also it was kind of sad at the when Johnny died, but so far I’ve enjoyed this book.

The characters were kinda what I thought they were, like they were all dirty, didn’t care about what they looked liked, because they were a greaser. Also what I think is similar is that like all of that main events like when the church burned down or when they were in that big fight with the Socs, or like when the socs tried to drown Ponyboy, and those parts were really similar in what I thought it would be. The characters kind of looked like what I kinda thought. Also I think that the characters kind of stayed faithful to the book compared to the movie, just in some parts the movie kind of changed it but overall the movie was kind of like thought it would be.

There were some differences that I thought were kind of different was that when Johnny and Ponyboy went to Jay Mountain to that one church, the church looked differently than what i thought it would be, because what I thought the church was that the church was bigger and like a more victorian church, but the movie showed like it was all dirty and like rotting out. Also i thought that the church wouldn’t be like on a dirt road and out in the middle of nowhere. And another thing that I thought was different was that the movie showed Sodapop and Dally have brown hair, but the book said that they had blonde hair.

I agree with the movie director on what they did, except since back in the day they didn’t have that great of technology then as they do right now, so I get why they couldn’t have better display. But what they did I think is what I expected it was going to be. Also in the movie I wish they put more detail, like when Darry slapped ponyboy, and some of those smaller detail, but I likes the movie, I thought it was pretty close to the book, I mean they cant do everything, but they did pretty good comparing to the book and the movie.

I liked the The Outsiders, it was pretty good, not my favorite but not my least book I would’ve read. And I know reading it spanish is not preferable language to read a book, but I know the teacher want me too practice it so thats only like the good thing about reading in spanish, but like most books in spanish I don’t like them because they don’t make sense. But the Outsiders was pretty good, and I’ve enjoyed reading it.
