Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.” Matthew 7:24-25

I’ve always wanted to be an 8th grader. To pick out the theme the year before and get to live it and breath it and show the kids about how to live the life God wants us to. And I’m finally here. Our theme this year, “Built on the Rock”, means a lot to me as both an 8th grader at ZCS and as a Christian in the world.

I can use this verse as an 8th grader to help kids know that they can live on Jesus when they need him. Everyone is looking up at you. Your the big kid of the school. It sounds intimidating, but it really isn’t. Being an 8th grader means being responsible for the way your class acts and how you act. You have every single little kid looking up to you. No pressure. You follow in the foot steps of the 8th graders of the year before. You can do what you want. Your responsible.

I can use this verse as a christian. There are people all over the world that love and follow the same God that you do. It’s kind of mind blowing. There are people on the other half of the world that are thinking and following the same person your following. There are also people up in Heaven who are praising the same person. They are actually with Him. They live with Him. He loves them and us. He loves everyone.

Our theme this year, “Built on the Rock”, means a lot to me as both an 8th grader at ZCS and as a Christian in the world. We need to believe this verse and keep it in our mind constantly. This verse helps us when we are down and need a strong foundation to keep us standing. He loves me and you and everyone else in the world even if they don’t know him yet. Let’s live this verse out and show the world the strong foundation of God.
