Lil Jimmy’s Kidnapping
One normal summer day L’il Jimmy, who was 17 years old, found himself playing basketball outside on his driveway at 3154 Baller Street. He was getting ready for the biggest tournament of his life. He had four games on Saturday and three on Sunday. This tournament decided what he was capable of and how tough he was with his new team called the Defenders. He had always lived up to his nickname “L’il Jimmy.” L’il Jimmy was five feet and three inches tall, he had always been the shortest on the team but the one who gave the team hope.
It was on that day when it happened, L’il Jimmy was kidnapped! It was eight o’clock at night when Granny, who was watching him that night, went to check to see if he was hungry. Granny had made his favorite dinner of steak that night. Granny called the emergency kidnapping agency right away and Detective Pedro picked up the phone. He said, “How may I help you ma’am?” Granny was speechless the only words that she could spit out were her address and she hung up.
Detective Pedro showed up five minuets later in his Bugatti with his flashers and sirens roaring. At the first sight of the humble home, he saw Granny crying and looking for anything that could give the detective a clue of what had happened. Detective Pedro began his questioning to see if she had any suspects on her list. Granny told him Baty was her 1st suspect. She said, “He is L’il Jimmy’s basketball coach and didn’t like him because L’il Jimmy is better than his own son!” Second on her list of suspects was Dyky. Dyky was the opposing team’s head coach and they had been school rivals since first grade. Gabe, known in the town as Old Man Murtle, was the third suspect. Granny said he hated the sound of the bouncing basketball every day on the driveway. Her last suspect was Hunt, L’il Jimmy’s girlfriends dad. According to granny, he had never liked him for some odd reason.
Detective Pedro when through the crime scene step by step. What he uncovered was some clues. The first clue was a handkerchief seven feet away from the basketball hoop. It was pointing straight towards the old man’s house. Pedro called the police department and and gave them Old Man Myrtles information. Pedro told them to wait until he was finished looking over the scene for more evidence.
Pedro decided to walk the yard to look for anything else that could point to the Old Man. In the yard, he found a Verners bottle cap. The freshly used cap was all the evidence Pedro needed. However, on the way to his car he found a knee brace. This clue helped Pedro know exactly who did it. He rushed towards the old man’s house with pistol in hand and with the safety off. Pedro knocked hard on the door, and there was Old Man Myrtle! Pedro rushed into his house and looked all over but found nothing! He checked all places, upstairs, downstairs and in the back room.
The troubled man sat down and was shocked at what just happened! L’il Jimmy was nowhere to be found. Pedro apologized to the man and left him $300,000.00 to go find a new home where he wouldn’t be disturbed by the bouncing ball. Pedro explained everything and left. He went back to L’il Jimmy’s house but Granny was nowhere to be found. Pedro reported to the Police that Granny also had gone missing. Pedro went out to look for more clues. He couldn’t find anything. By this time, everyone in the town was looking for both of them all over town.
At midnight, the detective was just about to leave after finding no more clues. But he noticed there were headlights showing up in the distance and then the car turned into the driveway. He could believe his eyes, it was Granny with L’il Jimmy! She had also seen the handkerchief and she knew the Dyky, the opposing coach, from talking to him after the last game Lil Jimmy played against him. The coach had been sick and used a handkerchief during the game. She also knew that the coach had broken his leg and had been in a cast three months ago. Granny reported all of this to her husband who happened to also be a policeman. Together they headed to the opposing coaches house. He escorted her in and there they found L’il Jimmy, who was tied to a chair in the basement. Off to jail for Dyky! Now who will win the tournament?
