Mountain Film Festival + Saugatuck Dunes

What did you do/see/experience?

The first thing that we did is we drove to the Saugutuck center for the arts. At the art center we did is we watched eight different films about different topics.

  • Brothers of Climbing(BOC) – About black climbers starting a climbing group

  • The Pinata king – About a few families who make hand crafted pinatas for a living.

  • Intersection: Micayla Gatto – About a women who was and is learning to pursue and combine her passion of painting and mountain biking.

  • Surf the Line –  About a group of  French People who made a zip line surfboard that you can sky die off of.

  • A new view of the Moon – A guy with a telescope who takes it to the streets and lets people see the moon

  • A letter to congress – A film saying the letter that was written in 1960 about preserving nature.

  • Sky migrations – A film showing the experiences of a group of Birds of prey experts during migration season.

  • Corbets Couloir Segment of rogue elements – A film about Corbets Couloir (ski/snowboard run in Jackson Hole) but instead of just using skies or a snowboard they used bikes.

My favorite Film was the Corbets one because it was in Jackson Hole and I want to go there. I also liked it because instead of just using Skies they used bikes too which shows that everyone has their own style and are different.

This had impacted my life because it shows that everyone was different and that you can have your own style.

The second thing that we did is we drove to the Saugatuck dunes and we hiked out there in the rain and wind. When we got to the blowout we had  7 minutes to ourselves. It was very calming because you could see the lake and the sand and it was foggy and very pretty.
