This is our erosion project. We made a replica p what would happen when glaciers erode the land. I built our model out of play dough. I put a jello like substance in the before side of the replica. There were a before and after side. The first of the replica was rolling hills and then the second is after the glaciers come through. Some of the things it formed were

Valley glacier- a long narrow glacier when snow and ice build up inside a mountain valley

Continental glacier- a glacier that covers a continent or island

Plucking- when a valley glacier moves and breaks off chunks of rocks

stiration – when rocks traveling along with glaciers

grooves- rock traveling along with the glacier

till- mixture of rock pieces left behind after the glacier moves through

Morran- till builds up in a ridge or mound

cirques- glaciers scoop out deep depressions in the land

Artci- two cirques meet and form a ridge

Kettle- small depression left by the glaciers

We got to see what some people did. It was really cool. I liked doing this project because we got to see what happens over millions of years in one project. I really liked this project.

These past few days we have been working on a project in Science class. We had studied volcanoes for the past few weeks. We made a volcano out of clay the past few days. We did a composite volcano. This volcano’s eruption’s very between ash layers and lava layers. This is a top view of our project. You can see in the middle if the vent leading down to the magma chamber. On the side of that you can see the pyroclastic flow. The black and white plume that you see is the ash cloud. This is a little about our volcano.

The first thing we did was we research and found out what worked for other people. We tried to do a design that a lot of people had done and it had worked. We built it so it would have a X like structure to support the walls. We would build it and let the egg perch on the top in a nest. We had it set up good but we wetted the marshmallows to add more noodles and it all went down from there.

Holy Spirit paper

The Holy Spirit is a lot of different things. If we look at the bible it tells us that the Holy Spirit is a Human because in the bible they say He not it. The Holy Spirit will never leave a beleiver. He is always with you and around you. One of the reasons people believed that fire came down on pentacost was because the holy spirit is a part of God and God is often make like fire. The reasons are that in the old testament the flame represented the sacrifice so they also show how God sacrificed his son part of him for us. The holy sprit the power that lets us talk to God. He is like the present day mail man. HE carries stuff to God. He really doesn’t have to because he is God. He is the main person between us and God. He is the one who tells use Gods plan for use and tells us what we want to do. He is the one who will tell us if God thinks its a good call to do something or to wait for something else to come along that is better for use. We don’t really have a feeling of the holy spirit but we know that he is there because of the feeling we get if we do something good or if we get forgiven for something we did this is how we feel the holy spirit among us and around use. They say the Holy Spirit is a person but also we cant see him or physical feel him is crazy. This is just another way that God has proven that he is way smarter and stronger than we are and ever will be.

The Holy Spirit is a strong person to me. He had been with me in times that I need it like when my mom got cancer. He had always been there and I could feel him in the presence of other people and thats why I think they say the Holy Spirit is a He. Its because you can feel his presence through other people. I all so felt his presence when I was in the Philippines. I felt it when we where driving in the dark in a weird part of the town on the way to GCCS. I felt it in the way that the walls of the car where like his walls that he could protect us and keep use safe through. I felt him when we where on a boat going to Puarto Galeria. The ocean was really ruff and the waves where huge they had windows but they where only plastic so the heat stayed in it was hot and sweetie but we we all got there safe and sound. The other thing was that we had no major injuries when we where there. This is some ways of how I have felt the holy spirit in my life.

You could use this in real life if you chose that you want to be a architect. You can use it to make the real sizes of houses. So at first when you draw up a house its on paper and much smaller than its going to be. You will have to use the dilation of a object in order to be able to make it. You have to draw the house and the make it bigger. you take each side and times it by x and you get how tall the studs should be to support the house.

Another way you could use it in real life is when you are a interior designer. You have to be able to draw out and graph the place where they will be in a smaller scale and then be able to go online and shop for the things you need on a bigger real life scale. You have to be able to take the drawing a architect gave you and be able to make it into full sizes so that you know the sizes of the object you are buying.

Yesterday was a great day because we didn’t have school in the afternoon. Instead of doing school work we got to hang out with our whole 8th grade and bowl. I think it was a really good time because we got to spend time with some of our friends that we don’t usually get to see a lot during the day. I was in a lane with Megan, Sara, and Katilyn. It was really cool how katilyn was so happy that she could do something like that. It was really fun because we got to just mess around with our friends for a while. It was really cool because we got to see people and how they were out side of school and not really surrounded by adults. It was really fun because we got to hang out with a lot of people. I think one of the best thing was that we got to just kinda chill and take a break  from school which was really nice. This is a picture that we took and it stared out with 2 people and this is how it turned out.

Metaphor Paper

My life is like a Hurricane. Its like the suddenness of it They take years to recover from and people from all around the USA or the world to help clean up the mess the it had made. People come to rebuild the area that has been hit the worst. This is like the time when my mom found out she had cancer.It was s shock but luckily it was not even stage 1. It came out of no where and then it was over. It left our family and friends in clean up mood. She had 1 huge surgery and 1 littler one. She was strong but at the same time weak. She was strong in her emotions and she knew with God’s help she could make it through. She was physically weak. For about 3 weeks she could not lift anything over 10 pounds. She tried and we yelled at her. Friends came together and brought meals and helped with all her meads and anything that would help out our family. Just like after a hurricane people come together and help in any way they can.They helped to come cleanup the mess cancer had left on our family and friends. The other time my life has had destruction is when my grandparents where to crazy to be living in the middle of the country with no one around. We didn’t know what to do and they were destroyed but we came together around them and comforted and rebuild a new community for them. Just like after a hurricane people rebuild where there were maybe in a different place than before.

It is the like wind in a hurricane. Strong and powerful and will tear things apart. This is like the time in my life when I life got shaken up and torn down was when my dad did not like the idea of me going to the Philippines. I understand that he wanted to protect me and keep me safe but I wanted to explore the world help people and see new things. My dad was not to sure of that. He wanted to protect me and my mom wanted to go with me. They didn’t want me to travel around the world all by myself. This was hard for me to hear them say no because I felt like this was God’s calling for me. The theme of the year was shaped by Christ. I wanted to be shaped by him and I felt like this was the way to do it. The theme for the next year would be Go. After about 2 weeks my life was getting rebuilt. Just like every thing the hurricane destroyed. My parents were seeing the bright side of sending me and let me write essay to try to get in. This was like the rebuilding of a town or city after a hurricane. People all come together and start to rebuild the town, just like my parents came together and let me try to make it on the team. Another time that I get destroyed it when I say something that i didn’t mean to say and the person it really hurt. I feel like I can never make it up to them and I can’t be good friends with them any more because of what I said. But this is just another time when God’s trys to teach me that even in hard times He will be there and that when we get destroyed he will be right there to clean up the mess.

My life is like the rain in a hurricane. Strong and powerful. It was will knock you down on contact. This is like when my Grandma went to the ER for the first time. I remember this event so perfectly its kinda scary. We were  at the cottage and my mom got a call saying that my Grandma was in the ER and they didn’t know how long she was going to live. I remember that me and my cousins walked out onto the deck and my mom was sitting crying with all my family around her. The next thing I knew they were booking a plane ticket for he that she would take of that night. Then next thing we knew she was gone and my dad was telling us what happened. I remember not getting it and then breaking into tears. My grandma might die and thats a scary thing it will knock you to your neas. I was 7 at the time. I didn’t think I could get back up but after the rain(pain) stopped and she was back to kinda good health I could get back up. Just like after a storm and the rain stops you can stand back up again. Another time that I get knocked down that happens every day is when someone does something that hurts someone but they don’t know they hurt them. I am pushed down by this because I want to help them but I can’t get in the middle of it and if it is personal I don’t want to break them even farther apart.

My life is like they eye of the hurricane. The time when you get a little break in the storm. You can be relaxed for a little bit. This has happened to me a couple times in my life. When I could take a breather was when I got the citizenship award in 6thgrade. This showed me that what I was doing was showing and his made me look back on my life and not wanting to change. I wanted to be that person all the time but like a hurricane good only last for so long and I could not stay the same I was. My life is after a hurricane and you can see the sun again that it where I am now with that struggle. The other time I was in the eye of the hurricane was when we figured out that my moms cancer was only stage one. I was like we had a little break and we could breathe and then right back into the storm.

If Gabe drank 5 cups of coffee in a half an hour. How many cups would he drink per hour?

Gabe would drink ten cups per hour.

Right know I am learning identifying combined Transformations. We have to map different quadrants on a graph. I have learned that graphing is harder than it looks. I have learned that you can have the same shape but with different quadrants and it can still be a congruent shape.
