Theme Writting

Matthew 7:24-25

24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.

Ever since 5th grade when my brother came home from 8th grade camp and told me all about how they picked the theme verse. I have been looking for good themes in the bible. Our theme this year, “Built on the Rock”, means a lot to me as both an 8th grader at ZCS and as a Christian in the world.

As an 8th grader, the verses in the theme stuck out to me. I knew right away at 8th grade camp that that those verses fit very well with our school for the year because it was our schools 100th anniversary and we were building a new addition to our school. As an 8th grader the theme reminds me that I have to stay firm in my faith and help those who are younger in my school or people who are not as firm in their faith as I am. The verse also tells me that I have to help people hear the word of God so that they can stand firm and be strong when there are struggles in their lives. Also that when there are struggles in my life I have to stay firm in my foundation in my faith.

As a Christian the verse means to me that I need to help people in the world, Not only with standing firm in their faith but helping them start their faith so that they can experience the love of Christ. The verse tells me as a christian that I should go and tell the word of Christ about Gods love so that they can start their faith with Christ. It also tells me that I need to help people stay strong when rough things are going on in their lives. Things like lose of a family member, slavery, war, and other things that satan puts in our lives. In the verse it says “And the winds blew and beat against that house; Yet it did not fall.”. To me that part of the verse kinda symbolizes how strong we need to be in our faith .

“Built on the Rock”, means a lot to me as both an 8th grader at ZCS and as a Christian in the world. Overall I think that the theme will help our school grow as a community and stay strong in our faith. It will also help us help others find Jesus too.

Descriptive Writting

The American flag card reminds me when I went up north to my uncle’s cottage for the fourth of July and to go jet skiing. Every year for the fourth of July we go up north to my uncles cottage. Usually we bring our motor home up their but we decided not because our motor home is as old as my great grandma. We also take jet skis on our big four place trailers. When we go down the rode we usually see people gawking and staring at the trailer as we go by. When we got up their though we saw that my uncle’s cottage was getting the roof redone and it was complete chaos their. In the end though it all worked out and we had a good time with all of our family.

The bald eagle card reminds me of the time over the summer when we were camping and our cow went missing. Our calf had just been born a day or two ago and we were camping when we heard the bad news from our farm hand. He told us that he couldn’t find our new born cow. So we all quickly hopped in the car and drove home to look for the cow. We all looked for an hour and we still couldn’t find it. Until our neighbor goes right by his house and sees something black laying in the tall grass. He goes and looks at it and sees that it is the baby cow. The cow jumps up and bolts into the fence right back to its mom. We all laughed that it was only ten feet away from the fence and rejoiced that we found it.

The rose card reminds me of when my mom made wild flowers for my grandmas 50th anniversary party. On August 30th we through a 50th anniversary for my grandma and grandpa. My mom and her brother and sisters had been planning for months for this and my grandparents were so excited. My mom decided to surprise them with making wild flower bouquets for all of the tables. It took her 5 hours to make all of the bouquets and they looked amazing when they were done. My grandparents thought they were awesome when they saw them the day of the party. Unfortunately after the party my mom figured out that she was allergic to one of the flowers and her hands felt all itchy, but she said it was all worth it to make them for my grandparents.

new addition

I think the new addition is really cool, because the bathrooms are very nice. I also like that everything it brand new and looks really nice. I also like that the new addition has ac unlike the old part of the school. I also like all of my 8th grade teachers. I also like the microphones in the class rooms.
