Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, and the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall because it had its foundation on the rock.

This verse is so amazing for this year because the it has to do with the new addition. At the beginning of last year we wrote down what reminds us of God on rocks and threw them into where they were pouring the foundation cement. This verse makes me feel closer to God in this school.

Being an 8th grader in school means that you are the rock of the school, the foundation. Yes, the teachers and staff are the actual rock and is what is keeping us all together, but I would say we play a big part in keeping this school together. None the less 8th graders are not less or more important than any other grade.

Being a christian in the world can be a scary thing. We’re not more or less important than anyone else because in the end we are all the same. I don’t really want to say anything that has to do with the verse when it comes to this matter because in the end no one is better than the next.

This verse makes me feel closer to God in this school. Between being an 8th grader and a leader of small group or whatever you’re involved in, to being a christian in the world and understanding that no one is more than the other. Either way this verse applies to both and this school is not something that should be taken for granted.
