Africa Entry Event

The things that i learned from the activity is that Africa is a different from the us and there are needy people over there and when we did the card activity when Mr.Minkus said stand if you are a red card and said that is the people that dont have any access to fresh water  and that just completely broke my heart and I thought if I was there then I would drill a well so the people can have the fresh water that there body needs. If you don’t have enough water you body gets dehydrated and you cant function and that leads to dying and I want to do all I can to help these people so that hopefully doesn’t happen. Also on Thursday we did the faces of Africa and when they showed the pictures we had to answer yes or no if they were born in Africa and I got most of them wrong and when I got the right answers I thought maybe some people were born in Africa and I didnt even know.Sometimes that when you think that answer is right it maybe isn’t the right answer at all.

Immigration Day

In Social Studies we are learning about Immigration and what pushed them form their country and what pulled them to the U.S.A. So today we heard Mrs.Hilerbrand’s story about what pushed them from Hong Kong to the U.S.A. She said that in Hong Kong they do Buddhism  and she said that it originated in India but they still do it in Hong Kong. Also she said that at Christmas time they Put lights every where in Hong Kong. I learned that it is important to listen to other peoples stories and I think it is good to talk about their culture and why they moved from that place.
