God prepared Paul for a life of worship in many ways. One of those ways is that Paul learned to be a tentmaker. This helped him because he could make or repair tents for money when he needed money for food or travel. Another way God prepared him was that he grew up a pharisee so he knew a lot of scripture. This helped him in his ministries so that he could say the word of God by heart. God is also preparing us for our future. I don’t know how God is preparing me for my future because there are so many possibilities. Maybe God is preparing me by giving me good friends or by letting me go to a christian school. God could also be preparing me by everything I do.
Oman is a country in the Middle East. Its laws against other religions except Islam are laws that say you can’t proselytize in public. If you do convert to Christianity and your family finds out it is considered betrayal.
For our egg earthquake project, we went with a pyramid design and we held the egg at the top of the pyramid. We had a budget and bought all of the materials. I do not know if the design we made will withstand the earthquake but I hope it does.
I think that the best part of our chain was that the twine because I think that that got us the longest part in the chain and strongest. I think that the worst part of our chain was the straws was and that’s because it’s not as strong. I did not use the popsicle sticks because those are hard and not malleable.
This year so far has been the best year at Zeeland Christian yet and I’m really enjoying what we are doing in tech class, we are Taking apart a laptop and then re-assembling the computer. I feel like we are already learning a lot in just these couple weeks and one thing I learned is about how Christopher Columbus went over to America and got all the natives sick. One thing that I’m looking forward to is Shadow day when we get to shadow someone for a day. I feel like that will be pretty fun to do.
Making a boat was fun. The first thing that we had to do to make a boat is to find out what materials we needed. We made our boat with styrofoam and then we put in a sail. I was worried because during our practice runs it fell down because we changed something and now it is not doing as well.
During the summer I had lots of fun going to Lake Michigan and swimming. This summer was a bit different from all the other summers because I was living with my grandparents who live on Lake Michigan. During the summer we were building a house and it has been over a year since we started, and we’re almost done. I had the pleasure of helping my parents side and paint our house. When I wasn’t helping side our house I was either playing my new ps4 I got over the summer, or at the beach. I also went to a cabin and had a lot of fun there. I also got to see what I thought was a bald eagle flying around where I live. I also got to go water skiing for the first time ever and I thought that I did pretty well. Next summer I’ll be able to go to Florida with my family. Overall my summer was great, and I’m exited for the school year.
Globalización es un intercambio de muchas cosas entre países. Por ejemplo damos dinero a China y ellos le dan a nosotros cosas. Yo aprendí que la globalización es una buena cosa porque puedes tener cosas para menos dinero y esa ayuda a países crecer. También aprendí que globalización puede ser mala porque puedes empezar a depender en otros países para sus recursos y eso se llama interdependencia económica.
Quienes somosGlobalización es cuando personas intercambian por dinero, información o recursos. Cuando hicimos ese proyecto en estudios sociales vimos un video que era sobre dónde viene los zapatos de Nike y vimos que los zapatos eran creados por personas en india y muchos otros lugares. También hicimos algo para ver dónde venía toda nuestra ropa y cosas. Mucha de nuestra ropa venía de lugares más esté como china y Vietnam.
Quien es el
Yo aprendí sobre Dios en este tema cuando estábamos viendo un video. Era sobre alguien que quería ayudar a las personas haciendo nuestra ropa porque personas no tratan bien a ellos y no pagan mucho. Yo vi a Dios en eso porque Jesús vino a salvar a nosotros. También cuando Jesús vino personas no querían que él salvará a ellos y era lo mismo con la persona que estaba tratando de ayudar a las personas porque las personas no querían que él ayudara a ellos. Para seguir a Jesús con respeto en este tema necesitas saber de qué estás hablando.
Quien soy yo
Este tema me cambio porque ahora yo se que esta pasando en los lugares que están haciendo mi ropa y como tratan a ellos. Eso me ayuda porque ahora yo se que malos cosas está pasando a diferentes personas y quizás puedo hacer algo para ayudar a ellos. Yo creo que yo ha cambiado cuando aprendí esas cosas porque ahora yo se que estoy soportando maquilas. También aprendí que muchas de mis cosas viene de personas alrededor del mundo.
Llamada a la acción
Yo creo que mi rol en todo eso es para tratar de ayudar a las personas porque algunos de ellos no saben que lo que los companias estan haciendo es malo. Yo aprendí mucho de la globalización ahora que yo se que esta pasando en el mundo yo voy a hacer algo. Yo voy a tratar de ayudar a las personas para no comprar cosas que están hecho en maquiladoras. También voy a tratar a decir a personas sobre eso para que ellos pueden ayudar y quizás hacer algo más que solo no comprar cosas echos en maquiladoras como estoy haciendo ahora.
En el día de la unión africana nuestro país quería el libertad de publicar cosas y también mejor escuela para que todos pueden leer los libros. Cuando era tiempo de juntar con otros grupos juntamos con 3 otros países que querían democracia y añadimos los mociones de ellos con nuestros. Cuando era tiempo para votar para nuestro moción la mayoría votaron que era un buen moción. Yo creo que democracia es un buen cosa porque sin democracia quizás hubiera leyes que no queremos. También creo que personas le gustan cuando tienen un parte importante y todos tienen un parte importante porque podemos cambiar quién va a ser presidente si votamos para alguien diferente. Nosotros participamos en el democracia por votar, eso es todo que hacemos pero si somos el presidente o algo importante todavía sólo votamos para que creemos es el mejor cosa para hacer.
Rwanda piensa que la UA debe no avanzar la democracia porque no es necesario.
La democracia es un sistema en que todos pueden votar y todos tienen derechos. La democracia es un cosa muy bien porque los leyes no están haciendo de el presidente o rey/reina es asido de las personas entonces nadie ni el presidente tiene mayor control sobre qué son los leyes y el gobierno debe ser tratando de ayudar a todos en su país. Pero Rwanda no necesita un democracia porque no es necesario y si queremos que nuestros ciudadanos tienen libertades excepto para votar.
En Rwanda tenemos un muy buen funcionamento de gobierno para un país tan pequeño pero también tenemos un muy pequeño proceso de elección en nuestro país y creemos que eso es porque tenemos un buen funcionamento de gobierno. En Rwanda no tenemos tantos elecciones porque primero toma tiempo fuera de nuestro dia para votar y eso es malo para producción y segundo quisas personas no saben que están votando por y después tenemos leyes que personas no le gustan y tercero si personas no votan después nada puede ser asido para avanzar nuestros leyes. Si solo tenemos unos elecciones para decidir quién va a decidir los leyes eso sería productivo. Tenemos medio malos libertades civiles y participación política y estamos tratando de ayudar a eso y no realmente importamos sobre participación política porque como estábamos hablando de no realmente importa. Finalmente tenemos un cultura política bueno para un país tan pequeño, al fin y al cabo tenemos un 3.19/10 de democracia y eso no es malo si eso es que las personas quieren.
Nuestro país no quiere democracia porque no es necesario y todavía nos estamos avanzando entonces nuestro país no necesita democracia. Una cosa que podemos hacer para avanzar nuestro proceso electoralismo es que vamos a hacer que todos pueden votar y hacer que los presidentes tienen menos tiempo para sus términos para servir y vamos hacer que todos saben que están votando por. También hacer que personas pagan un poquito de dinero para asegurar que las personas que están votando realmente están haciendo porque ellos quieren.
Cuando empezamos a aprender sobre el apartheid yo no sabia que era y no sabia porque paso pero ahora yo creo que yo aprendi mucho sobre el apartheid. Algo que aprendi era que el apartheid era, el apartheid es un ley que los blancos de Sudafrica hicieron para hacer que segregación es legal pero después muchas negros no gustaban eso y después terminaron apartheid pero tomo mucho tiempo. Yo creo que esos leyes eran muy racismo y malos porque dañaron a los negros pero ayudaron a los blancos.
Yo creo que debemos aprender sobre esas cosas porque si no probablamente va a pasar otra vez y también si vas a Sudafrica y alguien dice “es como el apartheid” o algo así no vas a saber que están hablando de y es muy facinante también Nelson Mandela era el primer presidente después del apartheid en Sudafrica y el trate de juntar a los negros y los blancos pero también era muy sabio y puedes aprender mucho de el. Ahora yo sabe que el apartheid era y voy a vivir en un manera que respeta a todos, también voy a pensar como Nelson Mandela.
One way that my thoughts changed about Africa is that there is a lot of cell phones there and also in Chad people die before the age of one. Another way that my thoughts changed is that there is still a lot of people who need water but now I don’t think that there are as many people with out water. Another thing that I learned is that not everything is dry and desert like there. Something else that I learned is that there is a lot of languages in Africa because our teachers told us that we could bring the 8th graders 6th graders 5th graders and 4th graders and each of us would have a different language and I thought that that was pretty neat. Also a lot of people thought about Africans animals and I didn’t have the animals come to my mind.
Algo que aprendi es que hay mucho desigualdad espacial en Mexico DF. Puedes encontrar desigualdad casi en todo Mexico DF y creo que Mexico puede cambiar eso. Creo que Mexico debe hacer un ley que dice que todos los niños necesitan ir a escuela asta 12 grado porque después pueden tener mejor trabajo y pueden comprar un casa. También creo que debe ser mas casas mas grandes negocios para que hay lugares para personas vivir, ese idea probablamente puede ir horrible pero es un idea.
God calls to Abraham but Abraham is afraid and does not trust God. Then Abraham tries to take matters into his own hands but every time God does what he said he would do. Even today God still calls us but a lot of times we don’t hear him. We have to look for clues and hints that God is calling us but we have to be patient because it won’t be easy. I picked a telephone as my visual aid because I think that it’s like how God calls us, we have to listen and we choose if we want to follow God kind of like what Abraham did with God he heard him but decided not to do what God told him to and took matters into his own hands. Also Sometimes you don’t hear God like sometimes you don’t hear a telephone when it is ringing.
Slavery and Salvation
Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers but in the end, he saves his family from famine. Moses would probably get killed but instead leads Israel out of Egypt. Joseph was sold into slavery but God helped him save his family from famine. Also, Moses was a slave when he was very young but lead Isreal out of Egypt. God says in the bible I am who I am and God is faithful and unchanging. I think that my visual aid helps because Moses and Joseph were slaves and that’s what the handcuffs represent and the key is God and he is going to let Joseph and Moses free. What I learned is that sometimes God puts you in bad situations but if you stick with him God will turn things around for the better. Today this does not mean much since there is not a lot of slavery but it is a good lesson because maybe God will put you in a bad situation that will turn out for the better.
Covenant
A covenant is an agreement between someone or something. God made a conditional covenant with us saying that if we obey him he will bless us but if we don’t there will be consequences. There are two types of covenants, conditional which means that if you do this then I will do this sort of thing, and unconditional which is when I would do something for you no matter what. For my visual aid, I picked a slot machine because you make a covenant with the machine which is that if you give the machine money you get money back if you get all sevens or something else. What I learned is that God makes covenants with us and we should keep up our half of the covenant. Today this means that you should keep your end of the covenant or you won’t get what you wanted from the other person.
Salute to a King
The cycle of the judges kept on going on and on what would happen is that everything would be going fine then Gods people would start to sin and drift away but then God would have a war so that the Israelites came back to him and cry to God and finally God would send a judge to the Israelites. In the end, people saw that other nations had a king so they know wanted a king. What happened was everyone did as they saw fit and they wanted a king so the got a king. I think that my visual aid fits in because you always want what other people have so if you don’t have a big house and you see people who have big houses and they seem happy you’re probably going to want a big house too just like the Israelites and then the other person would get an even bigger house and you would want that. They saw that every other nation has a king so they got a king. What I learned from this is that you should always do as God sees fit, if God says that you shouldn’t get a couch don’t get a couch.
Symbol of a Lamp
God promises to send a savior to us through the line of David, and as a symbol, God uses a lamp since that was the only way people could see if there was no sun. David is a man of Gods own heart but he still made mistakes and did bad things. The line of David leads to Jesus who is the one who will save the world and the only sinless person. For my visual aid, I put a picture of street lights. The reason I did this is that nobody really uses lamps anymore to see in the dark but if they walk along a road there will probably be street lights and that’s how you would see like how Jesus is our light, and the street lights would just keep on going and going. What I learned from this lesson is that why they kept saying that Jesus is a lamp and not just that he is a light.
Something is Rotten
Israel had one bad king after another, none of the kings they had were good and then finally one king decided to worship baal. So God sent a judge Elijah to go talk to the people of Israel to show them who the real God is at Mt. Caramel. Elijah said to everyone”How long will you waver between two gods” when Elijah said that the people went silent. Then Elijah made a miracle and everyone saw but that didn’t change the opinion of the people and they kept worshiping baal. I think my visual Aid fits in because Elijah said pick one God to worship and the fork in the road is kind of a symbol that you should pick one God to worship instead of changing your religion to make it so you can worship two Gods. I learned that maybe God will put you in a different place with different people to make a change but that does not mean that the people will believe differently.
Slide to Destruction
Israel had one good king but all of the rest of them were bad kings and did bad things and then the Assyrians scattered them. Judah had two good kings but the rest was bad and the Babylonians took over. The kings of Israel and Judah confused popularity with power so they did bad things to make people like them. The kings didn’t focus on God’s laws but instead, they focused on popularity even though God had people like Elijah go and tell the kings what they were doing wrong. The nations had consequences for doing it their way and not Gods way. I think that my visual aid fits with this topic because flies are attracted to artificial light and like the flies the kings wanted popularity (which represents the light) and they didn’t care about God’s law then once the fly touches the bug zapper it dies. That’s the same thing that happened to Israel and Judah, the kings did more and more bad things and then Babylonians took over and Assyrians scattered them. What I learned is that you can’t get too caught up in being popular and should do what God wants instead of doing what you want.
A Savior
The people of Israel could not keep the Sinai covenant so God made a new one where a savior would come and save them. Instead of the covenant being written on stone tablets it would be written on their hearts and no more animal sacrifices because Jesus is the only sacrifice that you will ever need. Jeremiah was a prophet and told the people of the new covenant that they would be saved. The covenant was called the Davidic covenant and did not have any conditions, God would save them by sending a savior. Isaiah was also a prophet and gave people an image of the savior that they could relate to but today we probably would not relate to those images. I think that my visual aid fits with this topic because every time we do this in church it represents Jesus sacrificing himself for us and the covenant that God made with us. I learned that the reason for the Davidic covenant is because Israel could not keep the Sinai covenant.
Cuando yo estaba viendo el documental “Salam Neighbor” yo aprendi que durante la guerra muchas personas eran matados y era difícil ir a los campamentos de refugio porque hay tantos personas tratando de disparar a los personas que están caminando para ir a los campamentos de refugio. Cuando yo estaba haciendo el simulacro de inmigración yo aprendí que no es fácil ir a los estados unidos y que no puedes solo ir a los estados unidos. Cuando yo estaba escuchando al historia de JP yo aprendi que cuando vas a diferente paiz muchas cosas son diferentes que tu propio paiz. JP no sabia mucho sobre la U.S.A. y aso no ayudo cuando estaba en los EE.UU. JP estaba tratando de ir a colegio en los estados unidos pero era muy difícil porque necesitaba tener un carta verde y esperar para un día en un linea para la entrevista para tener su carta verde.
Cuando yo estaba haciendo el desafío de consumo necesitaba no encender luces, entonces ni podía encender el televisor,ni poner mi computadora en el cargador. Sabías que los Estados Unidos usan 5,216,000,000 MWH por año y las personas de Guatemala sólo usan 6,361,000 MWH por año y unas personas ni tienen luces allí, entonces sólo es las personas que si tienen electricidad que usan electricidad. Yo decidí hacer ese desafío porque vi el documento viviendo en un dólar y muchas de las personas allí no tenían electricidad.
Cuando yo estaba haciendo el desafío de consumo no podía encender luces entonces cuando era muy oscuro era muy difícil ver. Los Estados Unidos usan lo más cantidad de electricidad por año que cual otro país. Casi todos los personajes de los E.E.U.U usan electricidad para algo. Era difícil hacer el desafío de consumo, pero yo hice. Había momentos cuando yo olvide e iba a encender un luz pero recordé y no lo hice. Si todos los Estados Unidos hice ese desafío por un día los E.E.U.U. hiciera mucho dinero para pagar por algo diferente. El desafío de consumo es algo que realmente me impactó. Creo que el desafío era bueno para mi porque yo estaba usando demasiado electricidad, porque nunca apague los luces en mi casa. Yo creo que el desafío de consumo cambio como veo al mundo. Yo creo que no voy a usar tanto electricidad. Yo voy a siempre apagar un luz cuando nadie está usando.
Cuando yo estaba haciendo el desafío de consumo yo estaba jugando un juego con mi familia y yo necesitaba encender los luces pero no podía, entonces mi hermana fue a encender los luces porque era oscuro. Yo cambio cuanto electricidad que usamos en la casa. Si todo el país hice eso conservamos mucho electricidad.Yo creo que el desafío de consumo cambio como yo pienso porque ahora yo voy a recordar para apagar el TV o los luces. No creo que ese desafío de consumo realmente impactó a nadie excepto mi familia. Yo aprendí que este desafío es difícil y que otras personas necesitan vivir como eso cada dia.
Yo creo que ese desafío de consumo me cambio como piensa en el mundo. Creo que no voy a usar tanto electricidad ahora. Yo vi cuanto electricidad el E.E.U.U usa y creo que es demasiado. Si todos las personas en el E.E.U.U paran de usar tanto electricidad sería muy bueno para el mundo. Creo que no voy a usar tanto electricidad porque es bueno para el mundo. Yo creo que si paramos usando tanto electricidad sería bueno para el mundo porque no necesitamos usar tanto electricidad. En conclusión no voy a usar tanto electricidad porque algunas personas no tienen y porque es malo para el mundo.
