Bowling

Yesterday afternoon I had a great time bowling with my friends! After we had finished eating lunch yesterday we went to Hudsonville Bowling Alley, to play a few games.  I really loved bowling, and what was really great about it is that most of us got to bowl with our friends. The first game we tried to do our best (I figured out that i’m definitely not a natural bowler), I think my high score was 47… But the second game was something else.  We had decided that we were jut going to guffy off, and boy did we come up with some guffy ways to though a bowling ball. My all time favorite throw was when most of our grade came and made a huge tunnel, then we threw the ball from under the tunnel. I had a great time, hope we can do it again sometime! 🙂

Jesus’ Crucifixion

Jesus’ crucifixion was an awful and gruesome thing, yet he did it for us to save us from our sin. In class, we have been talking about the crucifixion and his last seven words. We talked about jesus’ trust, compassion, completion, hope, forgiveness, humanity, and obedience and how we can do the same. The one word I focussed on most was his trust; he trusted God so much that he was willing to die on a cross, because he knew that God had a plan for him. This made me think about how I should trust God more than any other thing in the world, because he has a plan.

In scientific notation, the dragon flies have a total mass of 3×10 to the power of 3 grams.

8th Grade Theme Writing

Theme Writing

Psalms 19:1-4 The heavens declare the glory of God;

the skies proclaim the works of his hands.

Day after day they pour forth speech;

night after night they revel knowledge.

There is no speech, they use no words;

no sound is heard from them.

Yet there voice goes out to all the earth,

there works to the end of the world.

In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.

At the end of my 7th grade year, my whole class went to camp roger to pick out our theme for the whole school. While we where at camp we did some really fun stuff like zip lining and going on a high ropes course. And we also did some serious stuff to help us pick out a good verse, and be good leaders. Camp Roger was amazing, and almost everyone had a great time. Most importantly we worked on being good leaders. I feel as though our grade got a lot out of that trip. As an 8th grader this year I am going to try to use our theme, “Shout Silently” in school and in the world around me.

I believe that as 8th graders and leaders of our school we should be good roll models for the younger grades. There are so many ways that I can be a good leader and be a servant. Here are a couple of thing that I can do. The first task I came up with was picking up trash around the school. This could help the school to stay cleaner and help the janitors and teachers to have less work. The second idea I came up with was making sure to include everyone no matter what, so no one is left out. The third way I came up with was to say “Hi” to the younger grades, so they’re not too scared of us. And the last thing I came up with was to help someone with something that they are struggling with. All these thing could improve our school and carry out our theme.

I feel like it is our duty as Christians to be good models. Here are a few of the ideas that I came up with so I can be a better Christian and use our theme, “Shout Silently”. The first idea I came up with was to offer to clean up the kitchen without being asked. The second idea I came up with was to clean up random things around my house so my mom has less things to do. The third thing I came up with was to give a compliment to someone that I don’t always get along with. And the last thing I came up with was to help someone ride at my neighbor’s barn without complaining. These are only a few of the ways that I can live out our theme and be a good roll model.

As an 8th grader this year I am going to try to use our theme, “Shout Silently” in school and in the world around me. My ideas are just little things that I can do. I would love to be a better Christian and a better roll model. I’m going to try to do all the things on this paper throughout this year, and promote our awesome theme.

The Lords Prayer

         “Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven” is a verse in the lords prayer that means a lot to me. Because it reminds me that God is in control, and I don’t have to worry about anything, God has a great plan for everyone. I often pray for people to get better and to heal from cancer or something, it’s great to pray for people but I have to remember that God has a plan that is great for that person even if it means dying and leaving a young family behind.

Africa Entry Event

Last week I had an picture in my head on what Africa looked like,  who lived there, and how people live. I had thought that Africa was a really poor place with no food, technology, and lots of orphans. But after our activities Thurs. and Fri. that picture changed. On thursday we all wrote down words or sentences that we thought described Africa, and we made a wordle out of all the words. And we also had a guessing game were we had to say weather the face was from Africa or not. These activities helped me see how big and different Africa is, there are so many people that look completely different. On friday the teachers handed out card to us and then they would call out certain cards and compare how many people were standing up to how many people where sitting, sometimes when they called out the cards and told us what the people standing up represented it just totally blew my mind because it was so different. One of the time they called out like three kids out of about 60 and told us that that was how many people had technology and then there was another time when when he had about 40ish people standing up and that represented how many people in south Africa had technology . Africa is so diverse, not at all what I thought is was like

Camp Reflection

Who am I?

I am a unique human being, equipped with every thing I need, and that I could ever want. I am able to spread my faith with other so they can be saved too. I am a person who can do anything because Jesus gave his life so I would not have to.

Who are We?

We are a community who supports each other when ever someone needs help or comfort. Mrs. Zastrow shared her life story,  Mrs. Zastrow had some really hard time, but because of the community around her she has grown to be a great person and a good christian, thanks to the community around her. We are stronger togather.

Who is He?

He is the creature of all maker of the heaven and earth, His the Great I am! God is my standing stone he is always there for me no matter what. His in all, over all, and through all. His my father.

Sink or float

I have two cans of pop one mountain dew and one diet coke that are the exact same size, the diet coke floats and the mountain dew sinks, why is that? The reason the mountain dew sunk is because it has a higher density than water, and a lower density floats. We found the density of the water by dividing the mass my the volume of the object. So now you know why objects sink and float.
