Pythagorean Theorem Project

I thought that this project was fun and enjoyable. We chose to do our project on a poster.  We came up with our idea by thinking of things that were straight, so a telephone pole came to mind. Then we thought how we could make a right triangle out of that so we decided that Phil should be trying to take the pole down using the pythagorean theorem.

The height of the telephone pole was 50 feet tall. The support was 80 feet away, so we needed to figure out the length of the rope that attaches to the top of the telephone pole. The length of the rope was 94.33 ft. We thought that the answer was reasonable and accurate. Overall, I thought that this project was fun. I enjoy doing projects, and I think we should do more projects in math.
