Joe Flacco after winning the Superbowl MVP was going to be the highest paid player in the NFL but now he isn’t because of the tax rates. After the Superbowl Joe Falcco signed to a 120.6 million dollar contract this week. But after the tax Flacco has to face which is 51.98 %. If Flacco had sought out contracts in Tennessee, Texas or Florida then he would have saved 1.72 million dollars but he stayed and got a contract in Baltimore. Drew Brees is the highest after-tax paid player in the NFL. Drew Brees’ deal was signed before last year it was a five year 100 million dollar contract, so he is making roughly 20 million a year. But Brees is only faced with a 49.4 % tax rate so he will be making 470,000 more than Flacco. Joe Flacco’s agent sent an email to Foxnews.com saying that Joe was a bargain hunter and a better shopper saying that he could get a better deal.

My opinion is that this is a lot of money going around and that I think that Drew Brees will keep the highest salary in the NFL for the remainder of his contract.
