Back Outside: Starting on Monday everyone will be back outside during break and lunch recess! Please make sure you come prepared for the weather!
Spring Sports – Those participating in boys tennis at Holland Christian will start on March 16. For those participating in track and field at Zeeland Christian, it will begin on April 13. Practices will be tentatively on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Meet dates are still being scheduled.
Parent Teacher Conferences: We look forward to meeting with some of you this Tuesday. Students are not part of the Spring conferences, so they do not need to come with you.
New Specials rotations: begin on Tuesday. Make sure you have your PE clothes if you need them!!!
Small Groups: We will meet with our small groups on Thursday.
8th grade play: Will be taking place this weekend. We will get to watch a teaser during the school day, and hope you come back to watch the entire play of “Charlotte’s Web.”
Coin War: Continue to bring in your coins and bills for Leand! Friday the 6th is the last day!!!
Bible: We will continue to look at the end of Jesus life. We will look at the details of a Roman trial and Jesus travel and time to Golgotha. Memory work: Ephesians 3:14-17a- Due on Friday!
Social Studies/Estudios Sociales: We will finish our unit on the Han Dynasty and then we will begin to look at the Silk Road and the importance that trade had in improving Ancient China’s growth. Vamos a terminar nuestra unidad sobre la Dinastía Han y de allí vamos a hablar sobre el Camino de Seda y la importancia del intercambio en los avances de la Antigua China.
Spanish Immersion: We will continue learning about Mexico, it’s history and biography. We will continue to review past perfect and past progressive.
LA 2 (Spanish): We will review argumentative writing terms like fact, opinion, argument, persuasion, debatable claim, evidence, credible sources. We will sort claims and evidence as well.
LA 1: We will begin reading Insignificant Events on the Life of a Cactus. We will also learn about a reading strategy from the Notice and Note Book which is called Note- Memory Moments.
Study skills (6L only): We will be working with an independent study topic that the students will choose.
Science – We will finish up our quiz on Monday. Then, we will continue to explore how things get crushed and look at what types of materials absorb forces. We will get deeper into our unit question of how to build a case that will protect a cell phone from damaging forces.
Math – We are still working on our survey project and hope to finish on Tuesday with analyzing our data. They will present their projects on Tuesday and Wednesday. We hope to start chapter 7 on ratios, proportions, and percentages on Thursday.
