The Weekly News September 3, 2019

We had a great first week of school!  It’s been so fun to get to know the students.  I look forward to learning and growing with these students over the next 9 months.  I have already noticed their tender hearts and fun, inquisitive minds.  It’s going to be a great year!  Thanks for your continued prayers and support at home.  We couldn’t do this without you!

Our first 3rd grade field trip of the year is this coming Friday.  We will eat lunch EARLY and BEFORE we leave, so please send a sack lunch that day!  We will be visiting the Kent County Landfill and Recycling Center.  This ties in well with the TerraCycle responsibilities of our 3rd graders.

A few more important announcements to pass on…

  • Parent meetings this coming Thursday:  We look forward to seeing you! The same information will be given at 6:00 and 6:45.
  • Does your child play a stringed instrument? On Tuesday, September 3 at 12:05, ZCS will host an information meeting about a new string ensemble that will be meeting once a week this year. All students who are already playing a string orchestra instrument are invited to attend and hear about plans and dreams for this new group. Elementary students can bring their lunch to the meeting. The meeting will take place in the band room. If you have questions, please contact Kevin Schonewill.
  • Summer reading bookmarks are due this Friday: If you’ve lost it, just write a note and sign it please.
