Reader’s Theatre and Writing

This week, I’m going to launch a reader’s theatre with the kids. The reader’s theater script is an adaptation of the beginning part of Cynthia DeFlice’s One Potato, Two Potato. Here is the English script.one_potato__two_potato I translate it into Mandarin. Here is the Mandarin script. 读者剧场-一个土豆，两个土豆I’ve also recorded audios of this story (please see below). Students will learn to read their own part fluently, and then their group can do the reader’s theater together. I will let them know their part in school. If they can practice their part at home, that would be great. Hopefully, it will be a fun and enriching learning experience.

As the reader’s theatre script is only the beginning part of a whole story, students are going to write their own follow-up stories. So please don’t show your kids what the following part of the book is. I want them to use their own imagination and make their own stories.
