Thematic Essays

The book I am writing about is The Maze Runner  written by James Dashner. I really liked this book because there was always something going on even in the beginning of the book. I read this book pretty fast, within a week, because it was such a good book. The theme that I think is “That There is Always a Way out if you work together.”

I think this is the main theme so I’ll tell you about a part in the book. They are sitting in the glade looking at the map of the maze trying to find out. After them looking at it they discover a code. Then they got the code and it says 6 words, I think.

You think that’s it? well it’s not, I got more. Thomas and Minho are searching and they find grievers so they follow them and discover there way in is there way out. They threw rocks and they come with the conclusion that it’s an invisible way out above a massive cliff and they aren’t so sure about it.

HA! Guess what, there’s more. After they discovered those things they prep for a battle to get out. When they kill all the grievers by typing in a code a exit opened. The way out was a massive slide. Little did they know there’s more for them to do.

“There’s always a way out if you work together.” This was one of my favorite books and there’s three books after this one. I see this theme pretty clear because they get out of a massive maze with killing machines, or monsters, who knows.

Fishing

By Alex

Next to water with a pole

The silent sound of tickling water

A sudden tug of the line

The cranking sound of the wheel

Fighting hard

To get it above shore

Seeing the massive beast

It lets go and swims away

Into the dark deeps

As it slowly disappears.
