Nelson Mandela’s relationship with Francois Pinaar and the Spring box wasn’t very strong at the beginning of the movie. Nelson wanted to give them forgiveness and to end the spring box being labeled white. Francois thought that Nelson Mandela was trying to get rid of the spring box or change it. Later he found out that Nelson was just trying to change the white and make it black and white. They became great friends in the end of the movie. Another relationship is the spring bokke and the the jersey kid/chester. Chester was a offered a spring box jersey at the beginning of the movie but didn’t take it because he would have been beaten up by the other kids. Chester was black and the spring box represented white people. When Nelson started rooting for the spring box the kids started to like the spring box. During the Game chester was out side and tried to listen to the radio with the police officers. At the end of the game they where celebrating and having coke together. These are great examples of Whites and Blacks bonding together and having a good relationships in south Africa.
