Therefore everyone who puts these words of mine into practice will be like the wise man who built his house on the rock. The rains came down. The streams rose, and the winds blew against the that house; Yet it didn’t fall, because it’s foundation was on the rock.

During our adventure at 7th grade camp we came up with a theme verse for the coming year. We picked this verse because of the new addition and because it is Zeeland Christians 100th year. Our theme this year, “Built on the Rock”, means a lot to me as both an 8th grader at ZCS and as a Christian in the world.

This verse means a lot to me as an eighth grader because, we have to be romadles for the younger kids. We have to show them how to be built on the rock, meaning having a firm foundation on God and show that in our actions. Even if the rains come down and try to shake us of our beliefs we have to stay firm and show in our actions that God is in our hearts.

As a Christian we still have to be firm on God out of school. We have to show God in us when we are in public. That means walking proud that you know God and want to share his gospel, not being ashamed and not letting people know that you’re a follower of God. We have to be built on the rock as God instructs us. We have to act in God’s image. Meaning doing chores without asking, and helping people when they are in need.

Our theme this year, “Built on the Rock”, means a lot to me as both an 8th grader at ZCS and as a Christian in the world. I am very pleased that we chose this verse for the year because it fits so well with the new addition and the 100th year. I can’t wait for a great year as 8th grade leaders.

The latter reminds me of when me and my sister Ainslie were on a lake in Canada kayaking and found a big rock and thought it would be cool to take pictures on it. As I attempted to get out of the kayak I slipped on the moss on the rock and slipped all the way down and got drenched in water with my clothes on. I felt like a worm in the rain. Luckily I got to the rock and didn’t lose the kayak. Some reason my sister ended up not slipping which is good because she had her phone. We climbed the rock and took some great pictures of use and the awesome view.

The Fireworks remind me when we did our own fireworks on Canada day. We were all at my Grandpas house on the hill that leads down to the lake. My Uncle and Cousin set up the fireworks. Then the show begins. The different colours collide in the air to make beautiful patterns. We hear the flapping of the bats above us and my mom freaks out as one goes over her head and goes back inside. Then later we went around the campfire for s’mores.

The Hour glass reminds me of when I went wakeboarding because it took time to go off the wake. I already knew how to get up and wakeboard but I wanted to go off the wake. The first time I tried to go over I went to sideways and my board got caught in the wave and I did a big face plant and hurt my back. After that I didn’t want to do it again but my sister convinced me. I got  up again and was in the wake for a while trying to pull myself together to go. Finally I just went for it and made it over! But now I had to get back on the wake. I just went for it again and made it so I went on the other side and went really wide then I came across the wake super fast and jumped over the wake to the other side but unfortunately didn’t land and fell over.

New Addition

Zeeland Christian’s new update is looking great. We now have better desks and chairs. We also have nice seating areas and air conditioning. There also is sliding doors to connect all the rooms together. there are very nice glass doors to top it off. Over all Zeeland Christian’s new addition is a great addition.
