One thing that I pulled away from the movie was the religion. They were not allowed to do ceremonial practices because their religion was “illegal.” If they did it they would in secret. We also learned about the boarding schools and how and the forced the children to come. They were mistreated. I was never mistreated during school. I could never imagine that. I could “do actions” for part of my religion. I could celebrate and not be told that I could and couldn’t do.
