Water quality boat trip
We learned how to sample water and to test it for pH, dissolved oxygen, and other stuff like that. We tested plankton and we also tested water turbidity using secchi disks. Then we went inside and tested the disolved oxygen by seeing how many drops of the indicator it took to turn the water clear. We also learned about invasive species and some of them are called
Muskegon Lake (deep) was in between the eutrophic and mesotrophic
Muskegon Lake (shallow) was mesotrophic
My favorite part was getting involved and getting to wear safety goggles and test for disolved oxygen.
