One thing that I learned from market day is that collaboration can be tough. Business can be rough because sometimes it is tough to get along with your teammates. I know that because that happened to me. My group was having some collaboration problems. First of all, we could not decide on a product. We tried to solve it together but then Mrs.Cooper pointed out that we simply could not get one of our materials. Only logic could solve that argument.

 

Something I learned about money,(Critical thinking) is that you NEED to have a price that is reasonable, but profitable too. We were going to sell our plant monsters for 1 dollar and 50 cents. But then people stopped buying it because they did not have enough money left. It was very sad.Then we decided together with the teachers help, that it would still be profitable if we changed the price to 1 dollar. After that it really helped because people started buying it much faster and it became more popular. Even after that, we still got approximately 8 dollars per person at the end.

 

I learned from creativity that you have to look at the past so that you don’t make anything that a company already made and sold. You need to be creative and use your imagination.You should not copy. My group decided on a product that had never been done (or probably even thought of), the “Plant Monster”. I went online when I got home and went to Pintrest. My mom had found some great ideas that we thought we could use. The best options (or so my group thought ) were keychains and Plant monsters. We used creativity.

 

I learned from Communication that it is SUPER important to check all grammer on your pitch. Otherwise you will have the same thing we had. Every time we wanted to change the slide, Mrs.VandenBosch would say “Wait,wait,stop. You need to change…” Then she would say what we needed to correct. It was embarrassing that we had things wrong. These people weer professionals!Always remember to check your grammer VERY thoroughly so you don’t have what Monsters Inc. had.

 

I think that the BEST thing about market day was at the end. Just knowing in your head that R.C. will get enough money and be able to continue at Grace Christian School makes you feel relaxed. Also, to be honest, it makes me feel good that my group and I get a benefit. Also, at the end, we get to relax and you don’t feel so stressed.

 

If I had to do Market day again,I would change our price. Instead of starting with 1 dollar and 50 cents, we should start out with 1 dollar. The price really does affect your business. I think that it is important for it to be almost as low as possible. Then usually people will buy it before they ran out of money.

 

I learned from market day that collaboration is the most important thing. Without collaboration,you would probably fail. You need to be able to work together without fighting to get anything done.Without collaboration your group would have GIANT problems. I think that collaboration will impact my future learning because when I grow up,collaboration will still be important. I got the part of Amaryllis in “The music man” so I will have to learn how to collaborate with the director. I need to collaborate in middle school with my teachers. I need to collaborate with my little sisters, etc.

Collaboration is everything.
