God has given us names for a reason. My name means Jehovah has heard. When Elijah proved that the Lord is God. The other prophets shouted out, “Elijah, Elijah, Elijah!” Elijah means, “The Lord is God.” That is what the prophets of Baal and Asherah were saying while they said Elijah’s name.

God made a Covenant with the Israelites. That covenant was for David’s line. God made sure that the line would never go out. I choose a rainbow because that was a sign for a covenant for Noah. A rainbow is one of the most significant signs for a covenant in the Bible.

God called the Israelites to go to the Promised Land. They trusted that God would provide for them but after sometime they just left that in the dust. They veered away from God. But God sent judges. A choose a telephone because God “called” them to go. You use a telephone to talk to your friends when you want them to go somewhere.

God pulled the Israelites out of Slavery only for them to go away from God almost right away as they got in the desert. Then God called on the Judges. They led the Israelites out of their hard times. But in the end the Judges died and the Israelites went back to sinning. And that whole cycle repeated. It was called the cycle of Judges.

The Israelites wanted a King. They wanted a King really bad. The Israelites wanted to be like other nations. But God has made them they way they are. He wants us to not care about what we wear, what we look like and who we are friends with. We should be encouraged to go and hangout with people who are don’t have many friends, the people that are lonely. We should be activists of Christ and show that all around us and be God-like to others.

God gave the Israelites commandments. Those commandments were for Israelites to follow. But they did a really bad job at that. So God sent enemies to attack them. After that the Israelites repented and started to follow the Sinai Law again. God wants us to follow his law and his word from the Bible.

God wanted Jesus to come from David’s family line. But so many things tried to get that fire out. The lamp couldn’t go out no matter how bad the people that lamp had to be handed on to. God made sure that that lamp ended up at Jesus. Jesus was the answer to the problems that were happening. He made up for all the bad things that had happened before him.

here was a lot of conflict and doubt during the times that the `Israelites were wandering in the desert. They doubt that God would provide for them. They had conflict amongst themselves. They didn’t like each other and had so much conflict they ended up splitting into two kingdoms: Israel and Judah. They doubted God that he wouldn’t provide but God always did. But the Israelites never learned that God would Provide.
