Identity crisis

I think the American’s identity crisis was hard for them because they had just broken free from Britain and all of the sudden they were their own country.They were “slaves” to Britain one moment and the next they were free. some of them wanted to become a new country and others  just wanted to be free and live their own lives for a little bit.
