Metaphor Writing

I am a river. The rocks on the bottom of the river are like hard things in my life. They stop me for a little bit, but I can keep going. They might stick out and show and not look very pretty, but time in my life will wear them down. Eventually they will not be as big of a deal and my life can keep going.

I am also like a river because my life is a strong current. If something falls into my life I will push through and keep going. I can continue on through hard things. My life will not stop, it will keep going around obstacles. With help from God I can get through any obstacle and hard time that I need to.

Another reason I am a river is because a river has sharp rocks at the bottom that you might not see at first glance. When you first look at a river it looks pretty and peaceful. You do not see the hidden sharp rocks that lie at the bottom. In my life I have struggles that people don’t see at first glance. People might look at me and not see what my faults are but once they get to know me they will find out.

I am also a river because rivers flow into a lake at the end. In an explosion of splashes and sprays, the river flows from behind the lake, shoving water into the lake. My purpose in life is that I can serve Jesus and at the end I get to join him in heaven and worship him. Jesus is my lake at the end of my life. The lake is like heaven. He is peaceful and wonderful and I will get to reunite with him. At the end of my life I get to be with God and he is who I live for.
