On August 3, 1492, Columbus set sail from Palos, Spain, with three small ships, the Santa María, the Pinta, and the Niña. On October 12, the expedition sighted land, probably Watling Island in the Bahamas, and went ashore the same day, claiming it for Spain. When they got they thought is was Japan but it was rely Cuba and the Dominican Republic. The natives didn’t know where they cam from so the guessed the sky cause they didn’t know there languish.  The natives thought they where important people so they gave Christofer Columbus  and his people who came with them a lot of gold exactly what they wanted. They never ended up finding the indies/Japan and China but he found United Stats where we live, and he looked hard. When he came back to Spain he emitted it wasn’t the indies, and he was rely embarrassed.
