Why did the explores decided to explore in the 1490’s. They did that because the turks won the battle between them and the trade rout was changed so they made a new trade route.

Where king John of Portugal wanted to sail. He wanted to sail around Africa to the indies to get gold and spices.

Where Queen Isabella of Spain wanted to sail. She wanted to have Christopher Columbus sail for her and he wanted to make a new route that would be faster and better to use and he said he would go west Constantinople is the capital of roman.

On August 3, 1492, Columbus set sail from Palos, Spain, with three small ships, the Santa María, the Pinta, and the Niña. On October 12, the expedition sighted land, probably Watling Island in the Bahamas, and went ashore the same day, claiming it for Spain. When they got they thought is was Japan but it was rely Cuba and the Dominican Republic. The natives didn’t know where they cam from so the guessed the sky cause they didn’t know there languish.  The natives thought they where important people so they gave Christofer Columbus  and his people who came with them a lot of gold exactly what they wanted. They never ended up finding the indies/Japan and China but he found United Stats where we live, and he looked hard. When he came back to Spain he emitted it wasn’t the indies, and he was rely embarrassed.

Truth 2. God put his image bearers in charge of caring for the earth.

Truth 3. sin caused disharmony between God and his image bearers between the earth.

Palms 19:2-4 says

There is no speech, nor are there words,
whose voice is not heard.
4 Their voice goes out through all the earth,
and their words to the end of the world.
In them he has set a tent for the sun,

therefore we should shout silently we should have good actions that show we are Christians. We should be good examples to others and be nice so we will get that in return, and thats how we can show that we are Christians.

Thank You Mr. Falker

by

Kaiden Cook

Everyone is different because they are different personalities. Some people are good at one thing and not another and some are good at the other thing but not the other thing, and teachers like Mr. Falker who love to teach kids.

Different personalities: For example some people are open to others and like to share ideas and some are embarrassed to share ideas to others, and they’re afraid they will get the answer wrong. Some share stuff and others don’t.

Some people are good at one thing and not another and some are good at the other thing but not the first thing. For example in Thank You Mr. Falker the book we read Trisha is good at coloring and not reading and the other kids are good at reading but not coloring.

Teachers like Mr. Falker who loves to teach kids. For example Mr. Falker always holds up Trishas coloring page after shes done to prove Trisha is good at something so the other kids would not tease her about reading. Mr. Falker helped teach Trisha to read and it took a lot of practice but Trisha finally found out how to read.

Trisha saw Mr. Falker thirty years later and she said ‘’Hi.’’ Mr. Falker had no idea who she was until Trisha remind him who she was. Mr. Falker said ‘’ Hi what do you do for a living?’’ Trisha said ‘’I’m a teacher like you.’’ Mr. Falker was very happy because he changed her life in fifth grade.

If you forgot my three reasons they are: different personalities, some people are good at one thing and not another, and some are good at the other thing but not the other thing, and Teachers like Mr. Falker who love to teach kids. That is why everyone is different.

My Dangerous Journey

by

Kaiden C.

In Dangerous Journey and Pilgrim’s Progress Christian is in the City of Destruction and he says to his family ‘’I need to get out of this place.’’ So he leaves his family behind and goes through a lot of places and finds new friends. They go through temptations with him and helps him stay on the path to the Celestial City, (his target where he wants to go).

What Does This Have to Do With Me? I think it means that I need to stay on the path of Jesus Christ and believe and not fall off. I must not say ‘’I don’t need your help God, I can do it by myself.’’ I should say ‘’Please help, I can’t do it by myself I need you.’’ I will take his help while he can help.

Reflection on Pitch Essay

by

Kaiden Cook

I believe investing in our company is a wise decision because our food tastes good, it’s the only food being offered by our class, and we are helping a kid go to school. Thats why I believe investing in our comping is a wise decision.

I believe investing in our company is a wise decision because It tastes good I tried two of our Chocolate Covered Pretzels and they are good. I have two other teammates and they think our food product is good as well as me.

I believe investing in our company is a wise decision  because it’s the only food product in our class. It’s the only food product rather than five others food products. It’s a food and a lot of people like food especially chocolate covered pretzels like what we’re selling.

I believe investing in our company is a wise decision because we’re going to help a kid in the philippines. We need to raise $450 and each bothe needs to raise $24 for R.C. twishion, and R.C. is the person we are helping to support. R.C. is in 3rd grade

All that is why you should invest in our company I hope I convinced you to invest in our company

My Reflection of the Market Day Pitch

My Reflection of the Market Day Pitch

I thought our market day pitch went great, because we all did our part in the skit, talking, presenting, and describing out things out to the V.C.

What advice I would give to a fourth grader is don’t be nervous, and the V.C. are nice.

I think we did good looking at the V.C. and explaining out things from the presentation.

We did good on answering the questions and reading our parts to the V.C.

I THINK WE DID GOOD ON EVERYTHING BUT ONE THING ’’I missed one of my lines!’’

What advice would you give next year’s fourth graders?

What advice I would give to a fourth grader is don’t be nervous and the V.C. are nice.

How would I be better prepared if I did my pitch again?

I would practice my lines again for the skit.

Persecuted Christians
by
Kaiden Cook
After hearing two groups of 8th graders talk to us about persecuted churches and countries I felt really bad for the Christians that lived there and how few lived their. I would not like to live there. I think everyone that lives there should be a Christian and learn about God, the true God. So I think we should all pray for the people that live there, and help them. For example send them some Bibles, or money for Bibles. I hope more people become Christians. So all of us should pray for them right now. We can help the today.

Having Young Fives Buddys is Fun

Having Young Five Buddies is a Good Thing

by

Kaiden Cook

Having Young Five buddies is a good thing. Having a young five buddies is good because I have a chance to help them. Having a Young five buddies is a good thing because I can be a good example to them. Having a young fives buddy is a good thing because it is fun to do many activities with them.

Having Young Five buddies is a good thing, because I have a chance have a chance to help them. I can help them with making butter, and this connects with helping them wrap presents, and this makes me realize I really like to help Aiden do those things. This is similar to when I made puzzles, when I read to my buddy, and when I  carried  the sled up the hill for my buddy, and Aiden my buddy could not have done all that by himself.

Having a Young five buddies is a good thing because I can be a good example to them. For example my buddy needed help wrap his present so I helped him. I thought I was a good example to Aiden. Another time is when I carried the sled up the hill because he couldn’t of carried the sled up the hill so I had to. Another time I was a good example to my buddy Aiden.

Having a young fives buddy is a good thing because it is fun to do many activities with them. Many people think having a young five buddy be active is a lot of work but I think it is fun if you play along like for when you go sledding or playing pinball machines. This is similar to when we make butter and shook out all the energy for the home made butter so then I had to help my buddy and all that was super fun was fun.

Here are all my reasons if you forgot, Having young five buddies is a good thing because, I have a chance to help them,  I can be a good example to them, and  it is fun to do many activities with them, and that is all my reasons, . I hope I convinced you That Having Young Five Buddies Is Fun!!!

Skiing is the best

by Kaiden C.

Everyone should go skiing because you can go down the hill as fast as you want, and you can race down the hill, and you can get to spend a day with your family.

Skiing is the best because you can go down the hill as fast as you want and its fun to go fast unless if you accidentally run in to someone!

Skiing is also the best because you can race one of you family members or you friend just as long as you slow down before you hit someone!

Skiing is the best because you get to spend a day with your family in less if you split up in the trails because there are a lot of them.

Those are my three reasons why you should go skiing. I hope I convinced you to go skiing.

Welcome To USA

By Kaiden Cook

I was only 17 years old and I heard my mom and dad talking. So I went upstairs from my bedroom. I hid in the hall and heard that we were moving to the America. Only for my dads job of making bread in a bakery. So when I woke up my mom and dad said ‘’We are move to America next week.’’ I was shaked that we were going next week. That night I didn’t go to bed that fast because I thought how uncountable the bed on the ship would feel like.

That morning I did not want to go to America It felt like I had butterflies in my stomach. I packet all my special toys, clothes, and games. Then my dad took my bag and said lets go so we can head off right after we eat breakfast. When I got on the boat I was sad and happy at the same time because I would miss all my friends and i’m going somewhere new!

I did not go to sleep that night neither did my mom, dad, or grandpa and grandma Steenwyk and I got a little sea sick. I was sick almost every morning for like one and a half months so I did not like the ride there. So I just was playing my games on any other day and I heard the the sailer say ‘’Land Ahoy!’’ I was so happy he said that I was jumping up and down and so was everyone else we all were so happy! I started to pack all my things up and went on the front deck and sure enough there was land! And from then on my family and me started a better life.

Newton’s Law Of Motion!

0

Posted by kcook22 | Posted in Culture Blog | Posted on December 3, 2013

Newton’s Laws Of Motion!

Law #1:The Law of inertia.

  • An object at rest will remain at rest unless acted on by unbalanced force.  An object in motion continues in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.

  • An example is when Mr. Commeret took a play car and a troll and put the troll in the car without a seatbelt. He pushed the car down and the troll fell out of the car.  Mr. Commeret then put a seatbelt on the troll and pushed the car and the troll stayed in the car.

* The amount of force makes it easier to push.

Law#2:Force=Mass.

Acceleration is produced when a force acts on a mass. The greater the mass (of the object being  accelerated) the greater the amount of force needed (to accelerate the object.)

  • An example is when Ms. Stinson took a chair and pushed Abby around the room.  Abby tried to push Ms.Stinson and it was a little harder.

  • The chair moved because the mass was greater.

( Fuerza, Masa,Aceleración.)

Law#3: Force-Pairs.

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

  • An example is when Mr. Bouman took a balloon and blew it up and put it on a piece of string (on the ceiling) and then put a piece of tape around the balloon. Mr.Bouman let go of the balloon and the balloon went across the room. The air went out of the balloon and it pushed the balloon halfway across the room. The balloon went half way across the room because the air was coming out of one side and pushing the balloon to go half way across the room.

How does  what we learned apply to a pinball machine?

Something at rest tends to stay at rest unless acted on an outside force. What will make a difference in the different marble size?

  • We need a launcher in order for the steel ball to get launched.

  •  The large marble weighs more so it will go faster.

  • If we use a normal marble it will stay in place because it is lighter than the steel marble.

  • The bigger the marble= the more mass.

QUESTION: What will make a difference in the different marble size?

ANSWER:

  • When you have the bigger marble it goes faster because the bigger marble has more mass.

  • For example… when you have a smaller marble it does not go as fast, because the smaller marble does not have any mass.
