Descriptive Paragraph1

Our assignment was to describe a place that we like. We had to try to paint a word picture in the readers’ mind. How do you think I did?

 My favorite place to go in the whole wide world is on Lake Michigan at the beach! I could lay down at the beach with the hot sun shining down on my head sitting on my little, red beach chair for hours and hours! I lay there and look around me I see lots of tan, warm sand all around me, it feels so good on my cold feet. I see the huge, blue, calm lake and there are seagulls flying over it. I see little children in the water and on the beach playing with small toy trucks, boats, buckets, and shovels. There is a small brown dog running by me. I listen around me I hear the wonderful sound of the rushing waves and the white seagulls calling out. I get up to walk around and smell the water and the freshness of the air. I also smell the awful, dirty smell of the fish and seaweed washing up on to the shore although the fish do not smell that good I still love the beach!!!
