My Bible Themes

Theme 1: Names

Visual: Samuel – God Calls

Recording:

Paragraph: The reason that this theme has stuck out to me is that it gives me a new perspective on the Bible. God all named us for a purpose, and this purpose affects our lives greatly. I think this is cool, I mean think about it, God blesses our parents by naming us, and that name fits us perfectly. My visual was my name. It means God calls, and the theme that had most stuck out to me was actually the theme call(See theme 8). What this means to me is God has made us for a reason, but to put that into play, we have to do our roll.

Theme 2:  Something is Rotten

Visual: Friendships

Recording:

Paragraph: The reason that this theme has stuck out to me is that it shows that not everything we know is good, and it shows us the brokenness in our world. Although this theme can be kind of tough for us to think about, its what we need to know and it is important. The one thing that I thought was hardest for me to think about was us. We don’t usually think of ourselves as broken, or bad. But the good thing is that God redeems us for our sins, but we still need to be ready when God asks of us. The vision I chose for this theme was friendships. Sometimes, we think we have good friends. But other than benefiting us they can bring us down. And Satan lurches in to strengthen the cracks between the fights and makes it even more challenging.

Theme 3: Sinai Law

Visual: Internet

Recording:

Paragraph: The reason that this theme has stuck out to me is that it shows me that even though we are given rules, we very rarely follow them. I think that this theme is a good reminder to all of us. And that we should follow rules from not only God but from our parents and guardians as well. The vision I chose for this theme is the Internet. I think that the Internet is one of the many ways that we don’t follow the rules intended. Think about it, we might have more opportunities on the internet, then we do in real life. And, it isn’t necessarily a good thing either. On the internet, we need to be careful, and we should be just as careful around God’s law.

Theme 4: Conflict/Doubt

Visual: Friendships

Recording:

Paragraph: The reason that this theme has stuck out to me is that I see the ways that this theme connects to my life, and to the Bible more than any of the others. I see how the Israelites didn’t think God would let them survive. Or how I thought that I and some of my friends would fight and fight until something terrible happens. Thankfully, I’ve restabilized with most of my friends, but I know some of the people in the Bible didn’t quite trust God all the way through. And sadly didn’t make it. I know I already used this visual, but I thought it fit with this one as well. The reason we were all fighting, was because one of my friends was moving to California soon. And we all got really mad at each other. My friend moved to California in early July, and most of us have gotten over it. We found an app to keep in touch with him as well. And this might seem a little bit of an overreaction on my part, but I haven’t really ever lost someone very close to me before. So this was pretty hard for me.

Theme 5: A Savior

Visual: Isaiah 40:8

Recording:

Paragraph: The reason that this theme has stuck out to me is that it shows that God is never done with us. And that he is always with us no matter what. My visual for this the bible verse Isaiah 40:8. The grass withers and the flowers fall. But the word of our God endures forever. That verse means a lot to me. Because it shows that God will be there forever, and he will endure with us.

Theme 6: Sent To Promised Land

Visual: The Journey

Recording:

Paragraph: The reason this theme stuck out to me was that I was really able to feel how the Israelites felt during the process. And that means a lot to me because unlike many of the other themes, I could really connect and feel the meaning. Even to wandering in the desert how we all got mad about which directions we were turning, I probably what the Israelites felt like in the Bible as well. And the visual of putting our feet in the water, that one was pretty cool as well. But I think my favorite part of the journey would have to be when we were all screaming around, ́Jericho ́. I felt really embarrassed, and that’s probably how also the Israelites felt as well.

Theme 7: Covenant

Visual: Unbreakable Vow from Harry Potter

Recording:

Paragraph: The reason this theme stuck out to me was that it showed me that when God says something to us, he means it. And one of the things that I struggle with in my faith a lot, is not believing that God is going to save us and that it’s not real. But this theme has taught me otherwise. And what God means and does everything he says. But sometimes things that other kids say are not true. And then we can be tricked or used for something. I’ve had that happen to me before, and the best way to resolve this is to pray to God. My visual was a little bizarre, but it was the Unbreakable Vow from Harry Potter. They swear to each other that they will not disobey them. And that’s what God does for us.

Theme 8: Call

Visual: Camp

Recording:

Paragraph: He is always calling us, no matter what. God always calls us, no matter where we are, what we’re doing, or who we are. And, God does it in unique ways as well. Whether it be through a person, company, TV show, or like my visual, a place. Every year I go to a Bible Camp. And my relationship with God always strengthens that week. Because we always get one-on-one time with our counselor, and that really strengthens my relationship with God.
