Bible Quotes For March. QuotesGram

March 15-19, 2021

Dear Parents,

As I write this post, it is March 13, exactly one year since we sent students home from school with the thinking we’d be learning at home for 2 weeks or so.  Little did we know that we would finish out the school year doing remote learning.  With this anniversary comes a wide range of emotions, processing, and celebrating God’s goodness that we have been in school, face-to-face since the very beginning of the year.  When many schools returned for a time to remote learning this year, ZCS has had ZERO days with remote learning. Praise be to God!  If you’ve not yet read this past week’s Blue Note, please do so.  Please celebrate and praise God with me!

It was truly a pleasure to meet with each of you last week during parent-teacher conferences!  I so appreciate each of you and delight in teaching your children. They continue to amaze me with their enthusiasm for learning, their friendships and how these have blossomed, and their love for Jesus!  I pray that you have a wonder-filled week of learning on Tuesday and Friday this week. We have three more weeks to continue a very focused learning adventure until spring break.

Young Authors Book Order: Brian Wells is an author and T.V. producer. He is our special guest for celebrating young authors in April. Our annual Young Author’s celebration will look different this year since our author will be presenting via video instead of in person.  This week the students will be introduced to Brain Wells and some of his work.  In case you would like to order a signed copy for your child the payment is due on March 16.  I apologize for the oversight and for not getting this out to you sooner, but the deadline is Tuesday, March 16.  Please see the digital copy of the book order:  a1 Advance Book Order Form.

Our 3rd marking period is nearly finished!  On Wednesday, March 31, report Cards will be sent home for SHC students.

Kids Have Rights presentations:  I will email the links to the videos that we watched in class last week during the K-2 and 3-5 presentations.  The handouts that were sent home are intended for your information as supplemental material. We did not discuss the specific details on the handouts. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

March is Reading Month continues!  We will be working in school to “Read Through America” using non-fiction books and resources.  Please see the copy of the Bingo board that students will be using to complete their activities HERE. In addition, we will be having special “dress up” Wednesdays:
March 10~ Wear Red, White, and Blue
This Week!  March 17Sports attire- hats, uniforms, etc to recognize famous US athletes/olympians
March 24– Comfy Day – just because we love to cozy up with a good book!  (no stuffed animals, please)-
March 31: Kdg-5th grade (All ZCS) students are invited to dress up as their favorite American Hero

Book It: We are in the middle of our final Pizza Hut Book It reading incentive! Keep up the great work!  Return the form to school anytime this month or right after spring break for a coupon for a free personal pan pizza!

Glue Sticks Needed:  Students are beginning to run out of glue sticks in their individual bags of supplies that they brought in at the beginning of the school year.  Would you please consider sending in 3-4 more glue sticks for your child? Thank you!
